can i ask how much you pay for storing your caravan? What time scale that is for? and the location (ie indoor or outdoor storage)?
we are looking at getting a tourer instead of using our tent and thinking about all the costs involved.
We live in a terraced house on a quiet street but no parking available for a caravan. There is a lay by over the road but don't think i'd be top of the neighbours list if i parked it there! might be ok in the short term over the summer tho.
Would you advise a storage closest to home or the best one we can afford within a reasonable radius from home?
we pay 175 pounds per year on a farm which is just down the road from us.we bring it to our home and park on the street the day before we are going away .

We pay £400 for indoor storage on a Gold Cassoa site in Cornwall. We travel to Cornwall a lot and will soon be relocating there but we will probably leave the van in storage. We have nowhere to keep the van in Birmingham so storage was our only option and as we travel down south so often it made sense to store it there. However, its the small things that make us stay with our storage provider. such as towing the van to service for us FOC. setting our van up for us on site to use it overnight to allow an early getaway.Driving 25 miles behind me when I had a towbar electrics problem so that I would not be a hazard to other users. The site owners in our eyes are second to non.

Blimey, those prices make me realise just why we took ours out of storage and bought it home, we were being charged £365 a year for an outside pitch on a 'secure by design' site at a local main dealers, and the worst part, a deciding factor on us leaving, was it often got flooded and boggy when a nearby stream burst its banks after heavy rain.

We pay £220 for 6 months!! on a gold cossoa site, outdoors, tight spots and really rough terrain so even the mover struggles. But the deciding factor for us, is that it's virtually on top of the motorway and only 20 minutes from home.
It seems that we pay more in the South. Ours is a CASSOA Bronze site with anytime access during daylight hours, £25 per monthe, paid quaterly in advance.
I pay £230 a year for outside storage at a little farm round the corner. Literally two minutes from my house by car. The owner is kind and helpful he's always on hand to give me a hand hitching up and pushing it back into its space etc. He is fine about me opening it up (it's a folding camper) to load up and check everything before we go away. I know people who pay less locally, but the farm is right opposite my daughter's primary school. Means that on a Friday I can dash out of work, pick daughter up, hitch up and be on the road by four o'clock!
We pay 230 a year on Cassoa Gold, outside on stone base, access by key, and larger access in peak season, more limited in winter, would never have at home even though we have room because of security fears...
