I haven't got one personally but on a rally recently I was chatting to a friend of mine from Buxton who has one and he reckon's it's brilliant. The only thing he couldn't get his head round was the fact that it was switching on and off all the time. He contacted the supplier and confirmed that they do that. I agreed as it is very much the same as the halogen rings on a domestic electric cooker.

If you get one try the ones with the hinged lid,
They are much easier to use and you don't have to find anywhere to place the hot lid.

How do you do chips in them? do you need an oven tray
I have seen a 3.5 ltr one on ebay would that be big enough for two because the 12 ltr ones look a bit big, power seems to be 1000/1200 watts (4.34/5.21) amps so it would be fine for camping

I have just ordered a jml 10 litre capacity bowl 1300W for the bargain price of £33.67p including postage I cant wait for it to arrive I shall keep it in the oven in the caravan. My friend has one and I was very impressed with the roast chicken dinner she cooked in it.

They are brill... ours has even found its way into the kitchen when we are not away.
I can recommend the Andrew James version available from Amazon. It comes with all the racks and extension ring AND a spare bulb. Some of these ovens do not have a replaceable bulb so when it pops the oven is useless. Andrew James after care is brilliant also.

We bought one after seeing a lady in a neighbouring van cook a roast dinner in hers. The next day she made a pie with the left overs and also made bread and buns for the kids!!
Stupidly though I still haven't used mine - feel a bit anxious about using it, don't know why?!

As in my previous post I said that I hadn't got one myself but was chatting to someone that had. After reading the replies here there doesn't seem to be any negative issues with this type of oven so it may well be something I will look in to further as it sounds like a good bit of kit to have actually.

I think I might talk my wife into getting one for home first, to see how much we do actually use it. It's another bit of extra weight in the van - and I know we're running close to our limit. Visit to the weighbridge scheduled in sometime in the next 3 weeks.
