Over here in miserable Cheshire it hasn't stopped raining once for over 24hrs and its still coming down. There was a break in the miserable stuff on Saturday to enable us to take the cover off the caravan but its rained so hard since I can't even get into it to load it with our clothing etc for tomorrows holiday. Im very glad we are on a hardstanding pitch as I think its going to be a bit muddy to say the least. Weather hasn't dampened the kids spirits though - they just added their wet suits to their clothes pile for the outdoor pool.
I have my fingers crossed that some more July like weather will be heading our way very soon...........
Yes, same here. So depressing... I'm going off next weekend. I'm hoping that it goes off by the end of the week, I thought I saw a nice 'high' pressure thingy hovering just off Ireland on the weeks' weather on Countryfile last night on TV.
We should be going tomorrow, can't make our minds up should we cancel?Anglesy is such a windy place,Also we can go any time so why go and pay to sit in the rain.
In Aviemore the rain was torrential and relentless on Saturday. So glad we stuck it out cos yesterday was gorgeous with only one half our downpour about 6 pm. Dry today.
Aww I hope it clears for you. We went to Anglesey a week ago last Friday just for the weekend but the weather was so great we stayed until Saturday lol. At least now when we go to Fforest fields in August, if it rains, we will still feel like we have had a holiday!

Hi I am currently working in gt budworth cheshire and looking outside it's pouring down if it carries on like this it might be better to forget towing and fit an outboard motor to the van instead
A week today and we'll be away, so hoping for some good weather. If not, we'll make the best of it - still lookng forward to getting away, rain or shine. Preferably the latter though.
Its the same here in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, constant rain, we start our holidays this weekend, and the weather forecast is rain for the next 30 days

That'll do for me - we don't go until the 19th August but I am so jealous of you all - Whit week seems so long ago now.

Anglesey is such a windy place,
I had six days on Anglesey at the end of April/beginning of May and although it was sunny all the time the wind was constant with the Monday being absolutely horrendous - I've never known anything like it. Though to be fair, of all the many times I've been to Anglesey over the last fourteen years I've never experienced it like that before. In complete contrast, I was there the weekend before last and it was sunshine all the way with hardly a breath of breeze.

Well its stopped raining but still threatening, but I managed to get all the clothes and food in this afternoon. We set off at lunch time tomorrow and where we are going reckons on sunshine for part of the afternoon - just as long as it takes to put up and fill the awning will do!! Definitely, no chance of us not going - kids in wellies and waterproofs enjoying a play area or bored and driving me crazy tearing my house to bits - no contest!!
July and August are now what the weather men call the european monsoon season. In recent years April,May and the beginning of June are the best times to have your hols. It will start to cheer up towards the end of August, giving us a warmer, drier spell of weather into September, before it turns colder through the autumn.
Dont know how to say this but it looks at this stage as If we are in for a long very cold winter again.
