Hi jeff, I know you swear by this stuff, so I was asking around the car accessories shops, show rooms and the body repair shops, they confirmed that it is a very good product for putting a good shine on the paint work, but in all cases they only use it if car has been washed first, or there is only very light show room dust on cars, they do not use it on dirty cars as it dose leave minute scratches on the paint work. Best to do as you do, wash road dirt and grit off van first.

fantastic shine yes ill give you that,BUT it struggles to remove my worst problem here, and that is tree sap.i wash it now then shine. makes the caravan gleam.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
it certainly wont remove paint like on ideal world channel, the bits of bonnets cars etc on there all have designer dust on them same as the carpets they shampoo i was at an open day at catterick caravans and they were selling the clean and shine stuff there are many versions, i challenged them to clean my car instead of the pre prepared one and they just wouldnt do it,speaks volumes i have had it before and cleaned an older van i used to have and did a fair job but it had been washed beforehand

I haven't used Showroom Shine but have used another brand also from the shopping channel.
I clean my car with it without washing it first and I think it's brilliant. I do sometimes wash my front wheels first, though, because they get very black, and just under the corners of the front wings where the mud collects, but nowhere else.
I got the Showroom Shine after you raved on about it Jeff. It does do a lovely shine, really very easy to use.
It didn't really do much for my caravan, but that was perhaps because its that dimpled stuff, so a lot of elbow grease required! LOL
However, after my car had been stood underneath a tree for three days, it wouldn't remove the sap from the roof! So I guess for very hard to remove stuff, it would be better to wash first.
I also use it on my windows at home, it's brilliant for glass as well as the paintwork on cars.
JHSW was in the trade for years before i retired through health and we used all forms of stuff to clean and polish cars. Those garages you mention must be looking at the paint under a microscope and i would not belive them.John Andrew Watt sell it now.
Skiddly...Tried the test with the paint when i got it,it works, and will only work if the panel has been treated first.
Michael..got to say it does not remove tree sap as its a very hard thing to remove as it hardens like a blob of paint in sunshine.
I still wash the car now and again but i dont have to polish it because of the shine.
I am not a rep for this product but thought i would pass on the benefits of using it..Oh and by the way i challenge anybody who says this will scratch the car/van unless you wash it.
So is it a liquid or a cream & do you dilute it or what ?
Our caravan is older (about 1996) & is a `dimply' one like Jax's.... more like a matte finish so very hard to get clean & impossible to get a shine. I wonder if this stuff would manage though ?

Its a spray in a bottle and will put a high gloss shine on it,it will oxidize the paint to a point but if the paint is heavily oxidized may i suggest an oxidize liquid available from car shops/
If you watch the demo on the TV, the rep specifically says that it doesn't scratch the paintwork - OK, I know he would say that, but can you imagine the trouble there'd be if it wasn't true?
Also (re Jeff's remark about the paint) they do say on the demo that it has to have been treated first.
Another thing they tell you is not to use it on the front windscreen. Listen to that one, it's very difficult to get off and the wipers just smear it across the window. However, it does have the advantage on the back window that the rain rolls off (I don't have rear wipers so this is very useful).
I used it on my caravan and it was pretty good on the black streaks.
of course on tv they pick the colour of scrap vehicle parts carefuly black, red which look better after the designer dust as been washed off funny how they never do silver or white, all my points said im not saying its rubbish but i find car (seat alhambra)silver in colour has to be washed first to get a decent result, the demo on tv would be more convincing if they just went to a car park and asked if anyone wanted a free car wash n shine and showed the resuts then,id like to know what it is they put on the car bonnet in prog as it always looks the same and is certainly not muck gathered on a normal car thats been out and about finaly they say 10 mins to finish a car id like to see how long they need to do an alhambra or similar where you cant reach roof as easy Rant over sorry
