Maybe if you put what your caravan is, year, model etc there may be someone that can help you if they have the same and a photo copy would do. But this post is a bit vague until then.

seems they have mixed awnings up.So unless you can get hold of Abi and quote the numbers there is no point in telling them its on another caravan though unless Lunar use Abi or visa versa its a ?? one.

It looks like a trial & error for you to put up at home and gradually find out how it is done, Once the basic framework is up you should be able to do it.They kind of threadle through the awning bit and lay the poles on the floor first.Usually 3 legs, one middle roof pole coming out from van.One either side to match it.They all usually threadle through a piece of material in the roof.It must work if you try then write your own instructions by colour coding the poles red-left//blue-right//yellow-centre as we used to. Then front to back the same ,maybe wrapping more on the left than the right.

Thats all I can think of sorry.

I checked out the sales of that years model and no awning was with them. Have no checked to see if any on eBay where you may be able to ask the seller bit if a cheek I suppose. But apart from what I I hav ealready said above I can see no other way. Have you googled awnings to see if you can see ANY like it as that could give youa starting point to ask the Abi company if they have  copy one way or another photo copy way.

Sorry I hope you get it up at home and not so hard to do it either.

Most awnings go up the same way, have the poles been colour coded by electrical tape like, green to green etc ?.Go to a caravan dealership who have awnings built up for display and take photos of how it was erected then, lay all the poles out and try and build a similar frame.

Thanks for the help - we attempted to make the frame this afternoon. We had the basic frame up as you described - but have six poles of the same length that we cant seem to find a place for (approximately 1ft long). Logic says that each 1ft pole would join the 3 to the caravan and the other 3 to the ground but there are no attachments for them.

The poles might be steadie poles that fit in between the main poles to steadie the awning in the wind.Across the way i mean Have they got little clamps at the end ?

Hi there - I don't know much about all this but I do know that ABI are still on the go,  &  though they no longer make touring caravans they do still make statics -  so they might well able to help as regards their awnings.

Don't think the make / model of your caravan makes any difference really,   just as long as the awning is the right size.

Try Jeff's idea,  or perhaps take pics of the awning & email them to ABI.   Probably best to ring them first though to see if there's any point as there might not be anyone who'd be able to tell you about awnings anyway if it's quite old.

Here's a link to their website -  phone & fax no's at the bottom of the page as wel as a bit to click for their email addy....

http://www.abiuk.co.uk/   good luck

No one end of the pole is thinner than the other and they can slot into each other with tiny little clips so they dont budge. The poles to the van and the floor already slot inside each other with a twisty thing to prevent it from moving. When looking through the pannels we found what looks like a tent pod - i didnt know if this is a type of annex and this could be what the other poles are for???

La-la thank you for the link i have just emailed abi

Hi again abi89.   Sounds like that could be a bedroom inner/ extension.  Hard to say without being able to see it though.

Are you `au fait' with getting pics on to here ?   If you can I think your best bet is to put relevant pics on this thread - it'll be easier for people to suss it out & help you then.   If you're not sure how to do it come back & ask !  Email me if you like. I mean if ABI can't help .

Abi replied with saying they only make statics and they have no idea why their logo is on my awning

we will try putting up the whole awning today an see if there is an obvious place for the poles

If there thin aluminiun poles they could be for hanging the curtains on,above the windows there should be little hoops which they go through.

Lord above that wasn't very helpful was it !   You can see from their website they only make statics now - but they did used to make tourers - there's plenty still on the road & we had one too !.

I don't know if they ever made awnings,  if not my guess would be that they got an awning company to make ones for them so they could advertise/sell some of their caravans c/w awnings.  That would explain their logo being on yours.

Doesn't really help you though does it ?!   If this is totally new to you,  try googling You Tube videos for putting up a full awning.    The basic procedure is going to be the same for most so should give you some idea at least.
