We have a small cylinder vacuum. It fits beneath the front drawers, and we store the tubes under one of the seats. It is a Bissell and currently half price at Argos (£34.99) it is a really good cleaner.
There was an earlier post that recomended at Synergy 1400w vacum cleaner. Sold at Pondstretcher reduced from £24.99 to £19.99. I went out and bought one, have only tried it at home but picks up well although it is very light and tends to turn over easily. But I am sure it will be fine in the caravan. I agree that using a dustpan and brush is frustrating and can take forever.

Bought a dual vacuum from Dunelm Mill. £30.00. Upright but with a detachable piece that looks like one of the hand helds you can buy but electric not battery powered. Lightweight and does the job. Can't remember the make though.
No Bernie, there is actually a remote controlled one if you want to be really lazy.
Happy harwoods, mine is a Vax Libretto and it does pick up well in the van. It has a nozzle with it which is very useful for collecting spiders and also very easy to empty.
