We did last year. Hadn't even thought about getting a new van. It just happened on the day.
This year I bought some shampoo, polish and a brush, and also a pillow from the raskelf stand. My wife was prepared this year despite my efforts at the awning stands.

i was dissapointed on the awnings i thought they would have more especialy at the budget end. but most high end awnings. so went home without the awning. will look out during the winter months on the net for a deal.
We went, and VERY nearly bought a Pastiche 560/4, until we discovered it was impossible to put our Magnum porch awning on it - either it covered half a window or the rain gutter would have fouled a pole. Don't caravan designers think about awning design, or do they think we all have full awnings? I know there are so many awning designs out there that it's hard to plan for all of them, but the space between door and front window is such a logical place to have the end of a porch!
Still, we now have our eyes on a Valencia, so we may be moving into the high (Alu) tech world soon!
Interesting that the place was so little crowded compared with previous years, and that we saw so few people carrying bags and boxes out to the buses. I suppose high general costs=less dosh for accessories.
Must say, though, that the show guide was almost useless - hope they do better next time. I wish there was an Android app like the iPhone one mentioned elsewhere; that would have saved me hours of plodding.
Yep - found the Eldis Super Cyclone and loved it. had to drag the other half away when I overheard him discussing trade in value of our 2010 Swift Challenger 570. Did you know that they have a book, similar to the car price guides? I didn't realise that. So where do you get one, anyone know?
Yes! After years of the annual shall we shan't we conversation oh and I took the plunge. We did most of negotiations prior to the show and just sealed the deal. Bought our first ever caravan a Bailey Olympus 540-5. Will collect in mid-Feb. Otherwise thought show quite good but would have liked more awning and made a rookie error by not taking driving license to have a go at towing.
Yep, a freind of ours who we were at the show with got themselves a 2012 Lunar Cosmos 6 berth through Campbells. Lovely team there and great customer help, advice, guarantees etc. Jealous-yep, no really, they deserve it. Campbells said the van would be ready for them in Nov. great.
We were also tempted, saw a van we liked - Elddis explore, the chap had a new 2011 model for 2k less than the show price. He was also doing a good starter pack. But we decided not to rush in, glad we didn't now, we wouldn't used it till next spring anyway, so plenty time to shop around

We got nearly £5000 discount on a 2011 Delta TI and £450 less on our 2005 EW that we purchased in May this year. A deal we could not refuse!
Collected it on the 17/10/2011 and spent 4 nights at Blackmore CC site testing it. Very happy except for some user niggles.
