Hi. I am looking for recommendations for a 85AH leisure battery as I think my one is on its way out although I have tried to give it a good long charge when fitted to a friends caravan using his 12v light for a few hours it lost considerable power so I am looking for a replacement.Rang around for prices makes so far are.Diamond.numac and I have looked at the Banner ones online although they are more expensive.I dont use the battery on site as we use hookup I want it more so for our motor mover and emergencies on site i.e power cuts.I basically wont the best battery for the most realistic price. It will be used on a folding camper thats why I only need a 85AH battery. All advise will be gladly accepted.Cheers.Alex
If you use a motor mover you best buying a bigger battery, a 100 or 110ah, think most motor mover manufacturers recommend them. You will need to check the dimensions though make sure it will fit. Plus theyre only a bit more expensive so best to be safe than sorry! lol
Hope this helps.

It sounds like you battery is rarely charged, so it may well be ruined, as they don't like being left flat.
I just got a cheap one from my local Norwich Camping and it's still going strong after nearly 5 years, but I do keep it charged up whenever I'm on hook-up. If no hook-up, I recharge it when I get home.
If you can get one of the Lidl/Aldi intelligent chargers (about £15) it may well recover your battery to a large extent - it certainly helped mine

85AH is fine for a powrtouch mover but as above most others state they require a min of 110ah
Thanks for all the replies.I have just ran into another problem regarding batteries and countryman folding campers in the folding camper section. Cheers.Alex
We have an 85 an dit works perfect with our Rhyno mover across rough ground and very uneven concrete. needs 3/4 full charge according to Rhyno so the mover does what it is supposed to do .....and it does that.

I read it does not sound very good size wise. But then when I got ours for the old duff caravan last year it was a Numax but the the duff van went got the fc and through lack of knowledge dried two cells and could not take any charge to get back. That fiited fine. When we had to get another this year at East Runton Caravan shop we got an 85amp but it has proven to be extremely tight in the batt. compartment. When we got the Rhyno mover fitted and they gave us the red key Bob had to cut & file one side of the top off so it would even go into the compartment with the battery. Very Very tight.
It was Ratty that gave me the link to the ebay shop last year but when I checked through my feedbacks Iit said 75amp but it definitely was 85amp. it fitted okay but I cannot find the same battery being sold their anymore.
Hi.This is the only one I can find its the same size as ours but I wonder how long these are going to be available. They are more than likely refurbished batteries with a new sticker on but I dont think that I will have much choice in the matter only to buy one of these.I am going to phone Pennine tommorow to ask if they changed the size of the compartments Cheers.Alex
We have the Humax 85 amp,we got it from Go outdoores when they were on offer about £40 last year.It is just the job for our 2 birth caravan with motor mover and a full charge easily moves caravan where we want it.
All the best
Hi. Thanks for your replies I am having trouble finding a battery to fit the compartment as the box has built in side ledges and the gap between them is only 250 cm wide most batteries are 260-270 wide I dont kmow if Pennine changed the size of their battery compartment in 2011 as someone told me theirs hasn`t got the problem yet my 2010 model seems to have.Cheers.Alex

Just had a look at my Batt. Again its a Humax LV22MF 75 AH not a 85Ah it is 263cm wide but that includes a plastic bracket thing on each side which could be shaved off making it 255cm.don't no weather you could squeeze that in?
