Definitely not now, it's a buyers market out there at the moment.

They tend to fetch the best prices in the spring, even after the season has begun you'll still demand top dollar.

I still think ebay gets good prices for caravans, especially in the spring. People tend to go a bit mad, although caravans do tend to attract a lot of "dreamers", you see many "re-listed due to time waster" listings, but they all sell in the end.

My advice (as someone who has looked at a lot of 2nd hand caravans in the last 12 months) if you can hang on to it, sell it in the spring. Hope for an early heat wave (like this year) & punt it out then. Nothing like a little sun to get peoples wallets open.

Not much about for sale at the moment, so you might sell, its worth an ad!

People are still looking, I am but, no dollars to buy yet!

I got a proper bargain. Now I have a caravan that's in slightly better nick than my dad's & paid less than half the money for it.
I've got a 1990 Lunar Clubman, he's got a 1996 Ace Diplomat. Mine is in fantastic condition, his is newer but less well looked after, they both have the same mod cons.
He bought his in June & paid £1100 for it (the going rate at the time) I bought mine in November (a few weeks ago) & paid around £500 for it (also mine has an awning, my dad's doesn't).
OK, my little Lunar was a proper steal. It was advertised on ebay with no pictures, but there were other interested parties.

If you're looking for a bargain now is the time. There isn't much about, but be patient & yours will come along.
If you're trying to sell, expect to price at 75% & you may get some interest, or look for some cheap storage somewhere & do some sums.

We've agreed to give up caravanning. I'd sell ours now but I don't intend giving it away and I think it's a buyers market now. The family want to use it next summer then sell it. It's a cracker too & will be offered with everything needed to just hitch up & go away so I reckon it'll sell. (I hope so anyway) We'll see.

As it will in theory be a year older in January, I'd give it a go now.

It costs nothing to advertise on this site - http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/forsale/ads.asp?c=Caravans

and as wou can see people are looking for caravans at any time. Maybe they are looking for a bargain at this time but if your 'van is good and what someone is after - they may pay the price if you hold out and tell them you are in no hurry and don't expect it to sell till Spring anyway.  After all it may be a buyer's market but noone can force you to sell below what you feel the 'van is worth.

I think it disappears off the radar after a while and you can advertise again if not sold.

There are often free ads in local advertisers if you don't want to post pics - offer to e-mail them to interested parties.  Then there's supermarkets with ad boards, or a big notice in the window often attracts a buyer.

Go on - give it a go - nothing to loose.

It depends on whether someone is looking to sell to buy. We got a lot less than expected on our Eriba we sold. However the time of year meant we were able to get a gooddeal on the caravan we bought.

Oh yeah, you've nothing to lose by taking advantage of some free advertising right now. If someone's been looking for a long time & your's is what they want you'll probably get a good price.

I would give it a go, but be prepared to hang onto it if you want top money & let any prospective hagglers know you're not in any hurry to sell (even if you are ).

Good luck with it, whatever you end up doing .
