I thought someone here may be able to help me.
Somewhere (and I just can't remember where) I saw advertised an extendable rod that you can position between the benches (or elsewhere in the 'van) to restrain loads like water barrels etc. I was impressed at the time becase it had a boast on what pressure/weight it could bear.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about, where I could get one, or used one?
Thanks
Feezee

I've had one for years but haven't seen any for sale in a long time. I think Towsure were doing them though so maybe you should have a look at their website.

Hi
I have 3 of these for sale in the free ads section
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/forsale/v/Milenco-Cargo-Bar-/11186
Brand new, still in the manufacturers sealed box.
I can highly recommend these bars.
I use 2 myself in our van and they are a GREAT improvement on our previous method of wedging items on the caravan floor whilst travelling!!??
This sturdy telescopic Cargo Bar is designed to keep any load in place safely and securely whilst travelling.
The Small Cargo Bar fits between caravan bed boxes with rubber end pads to protect the furniture.
It, is, also, an aid to stabilise your Caravans loading and Noseweight.
Size 20-36cm long.
Product Code: 2721
This retails at £16.95+ each on the internet.
I am offering it at £12.99 or very nearest reasonable offer.

They disappeared from the Towsure catalogue for a while but I'm sure I saw them in there (on line catalogue anyway) a week or two ago.

We were thinking of how to restrain our aqua roll etc when we saw the restraining bar in our local caravan accessory shop and snapped one up.I can't remember the brand but it may very well be Millenco, it had padded ends to protect furniture. Just the job. It's maybe worth a look in your local dealers.
Just had a look at Milenco website and I think we have their one. Highly recommended.![](https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/forum_images/smiley1.gif)

This is where I come clean.:-)
Actually I'm not really thinking of it for the caravan. It's for my house.
We have walls that have been built strangly with a type of plasterboard that has insulation attached to it (followed by a void), and when we have tried to drill holes in it, it "catches" and tears, and we can only put "light" things on the wall. The typical self taping/expanding strange looking screws used for this don't do the job. They work, but only just and we can't put anything heavy on the walls like shelves etc.
(And my husband is not great at DIY).
What I want is a heavy curtain across a doorway, with an extendable pole from wall to wall that needs no drilling or screwing. Shower curtain rods will not cut the mustard as the curtains are heavy and lined, and I thought perhaps the milenco bar would work. Now having looked at it, I think it looks too much like an accro prop for me to want to use it, despite me being sure it would take the weight.
Oh yes - the pole needs to extend to 1 2m.
Oh well, back to the drawing board....

Hi Feezee
There is a longer version of the Milenco pole which extends to 1.6 metres. I don't have one so I'm not trying to sell you one!! You can see it on this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j595gzKPkL0,
The shorter version is actually quite attractive looking. It is finished in a "hammered" black and silvery grey finish and about 2.5cm/1 inch in diameter. The rubber pads at each end make for quite a strong grip. I assume the longer one is the same apart from being longer!!
I think the long one would do the job you want.
I hope this helps.
Tim

Just a thought - could you use a normal curtain pole or something and hang it from above rather than attach it at the sides?
