Is it just me or is anyone else finding the Camping and caravanning web site a bit annoying to use?
I contacted them about 6 weeks ago because i could not see my future booking and had not recieved any postal confirmation. They wrote back about 3 days later saying that this part of the web site would be useable again imminently! Six weeks later i see its still unavailable.
Today whilst searching for a local weekend break has been very frustrating , back takes you back to page 1 everytime , oops messages popping up and pages that cant be cleared on the quick booking facility.
It has improved to what it was earlier.I made 3 separate bookings on-line different days last week and all came through with confirmation e-mail within minutes.So still hoping they will get booking history back up sometime.

I booked last weekend and I kept getting sent to the log in page. Thankfully I had the email because the site didn't have any knowledge of the booking.

Got fed up with it all and phoned the whole of our 10 weeks. Got the email back but definitely not as full as we are used to as it does not define what we should be paying per camp but all lumped together onto one page. So do not forget to work out what you pay after deposit paid. I did check it up as I was concerned even with this half hearted email receipt. But it was all okay done & dusted.Now I have all my sheets separated and exactly what I will be paying on them all.
I supposed the Canadian way was best. But because it was also costly not doin git themselves. By next year they will get better at it all. Complaints they already know about, so they have fore knowledge of it all that is bad. Teething problems this year ONLY I hope.
We keep our van on a c&cc site and after speaking to the wardens it seems they are having a nightmare too, they have more people turning up than it shows, a large number of people wanting electric who appear to have chosen grass only and bookings that are showing a lesser number of nights than the customer booked.
They've been told the system is in it's "final stages of checks" but who knows?!
It amazes me that a company the size of the C&CC can't employ intethe correct staff to get a simple and reliable booking system up and running in a few days.
So I am not alone. Thankyou for the replies.
I booked 2 trips with the caravan club instead last night.
Renewal fees due in June for both clubs, maybe I will save £40 this year.
Same here, sent an e-mail telling them how naff it is, got an automated reply saying would be in touch, still waiting . Just a load of rhubarb, talk about making a show .

If this system is supposed to be an improvement on the old, they have it wrong, big style. If it was done as a money saving exercise, I would imagine it will end up costing them in lost/messed up bookings and people not renewing their membership. Either way not the best decision ever made.
Just finding a site is almost impossible and all the van details have to be entered when doing a search. Its VERY irritating and I have taken to using my big sites book instead its so user UNfriendly.
I have made bookings by phone and am still waiting for the booking history to start working as it used to. Nightmare.
I have just phoned all my bookings up to make sure. Messages left with the all but one which I could email that is Polstead site.
Had a reply from Hertford to say all well EXCEPT no number plate is on the bookings which they used to have. So hopefully I will get phone calls back from tomorrow. I will be ready with it all written down, as all deposits paid form the beg. of the opening booking day.
I think the C&CC site is terrible, I know a bit about websites as its part of my business dealings and the navigation and functionality of this site is abysmal, it just is not user friendly and that s he number one requirement... Puts. Off booking sites with them when the cc site is so easy in comparison
apparently the designers of the old site wanted massive bucks to carry on supporting it, so they were forced to change.
But yes, this one is very poor.
I have just been on again -30mins and got nowhere . Have emailed to complain and referenced this discussion but it sounds like they're not bothered . Shame really because we prefer to stay on' mixed ' campsites as we get a bit fed up with the Caravn Club fuhrers!

What exactly was the problem? I agree the interface is poor and there is no need to keep having to put in outfit details but making a booking seems to be working, even if you can't check your booking history.
