Your areial will recieve digital, yes you do need a reciever, like tv with freeview , or freeview box. I dont think there is anywhere in the country that has analog tv.

There is no such thing as a digital aerial so yes, your aerial should be able pick up a digital signal if the aerial and power pack booster are in good working order. If you have a television with built in 'Freeview' then you just need to plug it into the aerial socket, switch on the power pack and you should be able to pick up a digital signal immediately. If however you have an older analogue TV set then you will need to incorporate a digital 'Freeview' box linked to your TV in order to pick up a digital signal in the specific area you are located.
thanks for the info, must get the tele looked at then, as I never seem to be able to pick up a station no matter which way I turn the aerial, but the teleseems to work ok if I plug it at home

Which type of aerial are you using to try and receive a signal, is it a Status roof aerial or is it a directional aerial that clamps to a pole with coax cable coming through window etc.?
its a status roof aerial, that is fitted to the van, its one you can raise the height of the aerial, you can it round, and you can angle the aerial as well, but dont seem to have much luck when on site.

You need to retune a digital TV when you move areas, which is probably why it works at home. If it needs retuning, it will probably show a "No Signal" message.
The aerial you have is either a Status 530 or 550 but they do exactly the same thing. The reason why I asked which aerial you have is because I failed to receive a signal through my Status 315 omni-directional roof aerial (which is an earlier version to yours) only to find that some previous owner and only gone and cut the coax cable and shoved it back up into the hole so visibly it looked okay. So it may sound stupid but check to see if your cable is connected first and make sure you switch on the Status power pack as well for signal strength. Then like Francophile1947 says you need to re-tune your TV every time you move location so check the obvious bits first then re-tune the TV and see if you have any luck.

It may seem ridiculous to ask but I have seen where people arrive with a television tuned in to their home transmitter and be puzzled as to why they can not get any programmes whilst away. All that has been necessary is for them to point their aerial in about the right direction, or plug the status mushroom in and then retune the television by doing an auto scan to find the channels that are being used. So at risk of your wrath you did retune your television whilst you were away didn't you?

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

My Status aerial never picks anything up, I now have a cheap aerial on a pole attached to the jockey wheel. Picks up loads of channels.
Have you tried it since the analogue signal has been turned off. Mine was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard before, but since then it has been working almost as well as the directional aerial I also carry.

I also have found the status aerial very good since going digital. I do have to use the booster switch in the caravan. I have only got a cheapo tv with freeview from argos. It has worked on every site so far.
Will have to give it a try before Hubby removes it We were, or should I say I was thinking of upgrading to the directional one, but hubby says why spend the money when the one on the jockey wheel does the job!
also remember that some transmitters send a horizontal signal or a vertical signal , so if you are in an area where the transmitter is sending out a vertical signal and the aerial is level you will not get a good signal , you need to rotate the aerial to recieve a vertical signal , thats what the little winder on the bottom of the aerial is for , try this web site www.aerialsandtv.com will tell you all you need to know about aerials cables and tv

I had exactly the same thing. The previous owner even told me the aerial didn't work. They had actually gone one better though and pushed the wires in the wrong hole, shorting the thing out so the light didn't come on either.
Our TV reception in the caravan has been very poor since digital kicked in, often it is like tourette's TV, with contant breaks in transmission, ccchhhiii!
