I've seen cats on sites, but all my cats are rescued, so taking them isn't an option, they'd run away with fright, if they got out, so my son looks after them now, before that my sister used to come in and look after them.
Best thing I saw two weeks ago on site was a tortoise, wandering around in between the owners feet outside

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.

We were pitched next to someone with a cat down at Norfolk last week, it was forever sitting on the front set of draws between the benches, they had no awning up and never let it out, it must have had a litter tray, but i imagine there would be quite a pong in there, especially as the weather warmed up and with only the small top vent open on tilt.
I certainly would not have liked to sleep inside that caravan next to the cats toilet!

we had to get our cat PTS a couple of weeks back and we only started caravanning in aug'11, so never had to think about the summer heat, but our cat went with us and stayed in the caravan quite happily, not bothered about going out. However, in hot weather I'd have considered putting her into a cattery unless we knew we'd be in the caravan ALL day.
We kept her litter tray in the shower (we never used it anyway and it was easily cleaned & disinfected) and any usage was removed asap and disposed off....with good quality clumping litter, you won't get that pong off the tray, so it was never a problem for us.
Our cat was very happy caravanning, she had all the comforts of home (her bed was on the centre drawer unit) and she enjoyed a change of scenery in the equivolent of a goldfish bowl.
