Can anyone please suggest a decent hitchlock for a winterhoff w3000 on a 2008 van. Anyone with any experience of either good/bad ones please let me know....
The Winterhoff WS3000 takes the "Robstop" Hitchlock, which retails from around £90 upwards, although there are some on eBay at lower bids.
Tow sure have a "Stronghold" at £70, or a "Milenco" lock is available on Amazon at £56. However the only experience I have is of my Robstop, which I am very satisfied with. (Since no-one's nicked it yet. If they do my satisfaction level will suffer!)
Me too Alan, I don't know if that's the one you use, but mine is sturdy, and less bulky than, say, the Milenco, or even the Al-Ko lock I've used in the past. It's quite easy to use too once you're used to it.
I would recommend it to anyone who isn't put off by the price.
we've also got a Robstop, priced matched it at Go Outdoors and got it for a good price, find it a lot easier than the alko one one we had on our last van

Robostop for me too, but I find removing the key can be fiddly. I usually have to push the one side with my knee and push the other side together. Then push the button in and hold there while I pull the key out. I think it is awkward for me possibly because i am left handed.

I know what you mean, Chalkie, and I find the knack is not to push the two halves completely tight up against the hitch, but just snug, then the barrel drops in and locks easier. Then on mine the key comes out ok.
I am sure there is nothing wrong with the bulldog adrian06 I think, never used one. But the Robo stop is purpose built not after market and is very strong. By the way you have not filled in your profile stating your location and what rig you have.

Robstop for me also - obviously works as the van is still with me after 8 yrs. Can't remember how much is was then, but it was nowhere near the prices quoted today!!
