We have just got a new awning and we are off for a few days this weekend just to try the awning up, but seeing as the weather is rubbish and rain is forecast in some places, would it be a bad idea to still put up the awning. Where will it dry when we get back, I used to put the tent over the banister rail but cant do that with the awning, so how do I get it dry, could it stay it the bag for a few days. It isnt a porch one its the full one with the heavy material.
The only reason we are trying it is to see the size and if it fits the caravan and if it does the whole family will be going to cornwall so we need to book asap really, then we need the bedroom pods and ground sheet. I didnt really want to put it over the banister because the landing is only small and it wasnt safe going up and down the stairs tbh with a tent over but a full awning maybe too much....The other reason is friends of ours will be on the site too and are going to help put it up....But the weather again maybe against us....
we have dealt with such a problem by asking a local site whether we may visit for a couple of hours and explain why - never have we been refused or charged for their hospitality
------------- If if it aren't totally broken its probably best left alone.
Oh thats a good idea, there is one about 30 mins from us, but we have booked for this weekend, but if the rain does come we can always forget puttig it up and try again nearer home next week. Thank you for that good idea

Where I take the dog for a walk is a recreation park and saw someone with a caravan doing just that next to the car park also seen lots of people putting tents up and taking them down after hour
Don't you have family or friends that would let you put it in a garden to dry or a garage .
I'm sure someone would let you
But it will be fine I think the forecast is not too bad for the weekend .
Take a chance then if you have problems ask friends or go to a park spread it out and just keep turning it . We have also hung ours down our stairs.
No we dont have a garage or come to think of it any friends with any, but fate has intervened now, my flipping clutch has gone, it wont go in reverse without difficulty and the 1st gear is getting hard, so its booked in for tue and the site will carry out deposit over to another date, apart from the bank holiday though. The forecast for sat is really bad anyway, so maybe its for the best and we can arrange to nip on to a site and try it up some other time, but not a happy bunny!!!!!.....

It is a pain drying an awning we only have a small one but the hassle on the most seems worthwhile we normally eat in the awning and it is handy to have somewhere else to sit
We used to have a tent and dried that in our dining room, now we have a caravan and awning we still dry it in the dining room but its quicker because we can unzip all the panels and it actually easier to dry than the tent used to be.
Don't let rain put you off, we'd never get away if that was the case.
