We bought our first van in March, then joined CC.

the membership arrived in its nice box only to find the book inside all ripped. Not off the best start!

Then for some reason I dont think it is the easiest of books to work around ( maybe that just me)

although there are many sites which probably make the choice harder as there are so many but my main issue as someone who has joined late in the season is the availabilty.It seems that you can book without leaving a deposit which then you have a certain people who then book as many as they can which leaves very little the further you get into the season.

I am guessing but I guess many people just book as much as they can and then cancel closer to the time but i guess this is something I either live with or do not rejoin next year.

personally I think they should ask for deposits and see if it makes it easier for others to book.

I have no issue if they are genuinly booked and adheared to.

In my limited expiriance I fing caravan and campiting an easier site to work my way around and seems better availabilty but thats just me

The only advantage I have found so far is grenn flag mayday

I am a member - I only became a member because we could not get insurance with anyone because of where we stored our van - we were told the CC would cover us and they did and cheap too.

I then found out about the Green Flag MayDay and got discount for that being members - so cancelled my RAC which was going up year by year - I not found any of that with Green Flag

I have used a few of their sites but find it easier to ring the site and book rather than using the net - you sometimes get conflicting information.

You also get your car and caravan at the price of a car on the M6 Toll just by showing your membership card.

I hasve also had discounts of 10% and more to attractions such as Cheddar caves on production of member card.

So for me if it is worthwhile.  With everything I gain from it - the membership is covered by the discounts recieved :)
