Just purchased our first caravan adria 542dk i have 2 very excited girls decided it was time to upgrade from our much loved folding camper. I can't wait to get going any advice/tips very much appreciated, thank you?
Oooh another one in the Adria club! Advice............ Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! We love ours we've got the other one to yours, the DT as we have 3 children so loved the triple bunks.

Oooo fab I have 2 girls they get more height if we just got the 2 bunks. I love the size of the bunks much bigger than any other caravan I looked at that's what appealed to me most. It's putting the awning up or the irst time I'm dreading haha no doubt me and the other half will have words hahaha but that's normal on site haha
Brilliant vans, we've had two and love them.
Hope you have a lot of fun in yours!
We had a 542dt first and changed because out three lads were outgrowing their bunks.
Very stable, lightweight van for its size.
I'm sure you will be fine with the awning.......... Slow and steady wins the race. We find that even though there are 5 of us, a Kampa Rally 260 porch awning gives us enough room to put chairs, table (freestanding one from the caravan) small 3 way fridge and a 4 shelf camping cupboard in it. With the size of the caravan, it gave us enough room to be more than comfortable for a whole weeks holiday. I can put ours thought the awning rail, poles in and up and started to peg out before OH has filled up the water hogs, plugged us in and connected the waste hogs. Might be worth a look instead of a full awning for shorter stays.
I visited Venture caravans at Northampton on Tuesday, to have a look at the Altea Tay which is a fixed bed 4 berth, and also comes as the Sportline PX. And at an unladen weight of 1023kg (Altea Tay) will fine for towing with my firms Diesel VW Golf.
In fact the Sportline model was out on review with a certain TV channel.
Anyway I was most impressed with the Adria, and even though I covet a Trigano Silver 420 pop-top I think my first caravan will be an Adria.
Certainly the Adria will cost less than the Trigano and will give more space.

Oooooh nice. I've been interested in the 542dk for a while, Sportline also. I had the first caravanning conversation with my OH that wasn't immediately terminated yesterday with him even offering to come and view some!! Trouble is out of all the layouts I've viewed online that Adria is proving a firm favourite! Might have to get to Venture next time we are at relatives that way. We could do with a North West dealer!
We are another Adria Sportline DT owner and fans :-).
Great vans, DT or DK just depends on your preference for bed and bathroom layout but both are great.
My mods are Bailey sink drainer and bowl ( fits perfectly ), Bailey mug / plate / bowl racks inside kitchen cupbords, status directional aerial on the roof, powrtouch mover, external plugs, Truma Ultraheat electric dual fuel conversion so the heater can run on either ( thanks to Wizzo and his advise ).
My next job is to fit a ceiling light by the entrance door, not one there which seems illogical to me :-)
Very easy to tow with our Audi A4, can't wait till the bank holiday!
as a couple,we have the Adria Adiva,it has the single beds layout which is ideal for us,we love it to bits, and have had lots of people asking to have a look around it, and comments on how good it looks,so you should be very happy with your new one, bearing in mind that all caravans could have their faults
Ooo, congrats, i adore adrias and if i had a dealer in stoke, i would of bought one last year instead of my swift (which we love too) but the adria rio grande is number one on my wish list for a forever van.
re: kampa, ive got the 390 rally plus with the sleeping annexe. first time with this model and its been on site now for 5 weeks through wind and rain and SUN and never moved, its rock solid, easy to put up and goes back in its bag at the end of the hols. very pleased. ps. the sleeping annexe comes with it, but you can use it or keep it in its bag, we use it for storage so the main awning has a large dining table in it.
I have an Adria 542DT (with the triple bunks) and I love it to bits. I liked the fact that it didn't come with all the stuff I didn't want (but could add in later if I did) like a TV aerial and a microwave but did have all the stuff I did want like a light weight (I was new to all of this so didn't want to be lugging a big weight behind me), brilliant build quality and insulation and (for me - everyone's taste is different) a light and airy interior.
Quite a number of postings recently extolling the virtues of Adria. !0 years ago an Adria on site was a bit of an oddity but instantly recognisable due to their distinctive blue trim. We've had our first Adria for a year now and are delighted with it. Owned a variety of vans over the last 35 years but I don't think any of them were built as well as the current one. The reputation rapidly being gained by the Adria marque is gaining them an increasing share of the market. I think it wont be long before the major UK manufactures are looking over their shoulders. I've always been in favour of buying British, but in this case I'm afraid I couldn't find a British van that could compare with our Action.....Mick
