Here is a link to a list of equipment you should consider. Although this is a camping list there are items that apply to caravanning too. There are lots of other caravanning tips to be found here too.
Good luck, I hope you enjoy you new van and have many happy holidays.
Congratulations on your purchase, you will love it. You will always forget something, first outing go close to home and/or caravan accessory shop lol. You learn something everytime you go out, or see something you would like, its all part of the experience. Enjoy
Exciting stuff!! Go with the basics, there will always be something on your "wish list" no matter how long you caravan for ;0) enjoy your new van, hope you have many happy times in it :0)
most important thing to remember is a pen and paper to note down all the things you forgot, want to get, need doing etc! we had our first trip out begining of the month and came home with a list of things we want/need/need doing.

What is your location? You may find someone on here lives in your area and has some spare bits you could have.I have a step and mains lead for example.
Exciting I have just bought our 1st caravan.... Essentials is your favourite tipple on a night!!!! I have bought a George foreman I have seen many people using them in the caravan awning seemed like a good idea.

The toasty thing is great i was brought up camping with food being cooked in one. Breakfast = bean or ham and cheese. Dinner = tinned stake or such like. Pudding tinned apples all slapped beween 2 slices of bread.
------------- She may be old, she may be rough around the edges but she is our home from home and we love it.
It's been extended to 960cm but could easily revised back down to it's original size - estimated at 900cms. Experts may even be able to extend it a bit more. They usually say up to a metre and so far this has only had an extre 60cms added.
It's old but in good condition. The fabric colour is light grey and dark grey with no leaks and it has a steel frame.
It came to me with the caravan I bought secondhand last year and I used it myself back in April, but I personally don't like Trio awnings preferring instead Bradcot.
I had it inspected by Trio Pair in Pontefract before I used it and they reckoned that was worth £100.00 of anybody's money but I just want it out of the way so if you're interested, you can have it for the bargain price of £50.00. If you're interested you can contact me in the first instance through this web site.
I have a few other bits you may be interested in ie Brand spanking new mains lead never used.
