Sorry if this topic has been covered before but I'm lost and need a bit of help.
On a recent trip my pump failed and I've tried everything to get it working.
The van is a 2006 Coachman Amara 420/4 with a Crystal water pump and Whale presure switch.
When I turn the pump on at the control panel the light eluminates but does not go back off. It is only suposed to be iluminated when the pump is running (tap open).
I have replaced the pump and presure switch but still no water.
The two wires to the pressure switch ,if you take them off and connect together the pump should run. if not i would be looking for blown fuse or broken wire. lf no fuse blown check connection of pump outside of van is making ok and you have volts on it.

when you say two wired, there are two connections one with two wires the other with one. I take it i need to connect both to see if i get the pump working?
Yes if you connect the two that should give a circuit and pump should run.If not you need to check there is voltage at pump connection outside. If there is no voltage check for blown fuse if all wires look intact.
We are complete newbies to vanning and had the same problem with our Coachman Festival. The problem for us was simple, because of the twist in the pipe, it being rigid, the pump end was not actually submersed so now I always make sure that it is kept topped up.
sounds like the fuse has blown for the pump. odd times if the green light is on and no water comes it is an air lock. remove the pump completely and add to the water first before the caravan fitting. the reason the pump fuse blows is because the pump has stuck in position, or the pump has burned out because of having no water in the barrel.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Once you have the pump in a filled barrel and seeing you have replaced it as well as the pressure switch...have you opened a tap and adjusted the new pressure switch ?.
you need to get a voltage tester, set on 12v.
test the two connectors on the outside of the van, where the pump plugs in, switch on the pump and open a tap, you should get 12v.
if the little light on the pump switch(above the door) is lit, then the fuse is ok.
the connectors may need cleaning and splaying out a little.

That could be a worn rubber 'O' ring that's not sealing and needs replacing. It could be that one of the swivel securing clamps has broken and not restraining the connector or possibly a defective non return valve that is creating back pressure. I had the same problem last year so replaced the sealing ring and non return valve plus I replaced the old Carver water inlet with a new Truma one as there is also a built in cold water non return valve built in at the rear. Problem solved.

What is the o ring
The rubber sealing ring shaped liked the letter O that fits on the groove behind the water pump connector. Something has to seal the water otherwise the system won't pressurise and if the system doesn't pressurise then the pressure switch won't function which means you get no water at all. If this is all too complex then I suggest you get a service engineer to have a look it as it could be a number of issues at fault.
