I had a similar problem winter before last, when we removed the cover from the the van we had quite a lot of dull areas where the cover had "buffed" the finish on the van looked like dull blotches all over the roof / top corners - The cover was a good quality made to measure and it was not flapping around in the wind, took me quite a while to polish out the dull marks.

Last winter I never bothered with the cover but applied OLpro overwintering fluid instead - our van stayed spotless all winter, and when I washed it last week it gleamed like new.

So the expensive cover has been consigned to the bin!

What have you done so far to remove marks? if its mould then get some spray mould remover, give it a good spray with that, let it soak then wash it with caravan cleaner such as Fenwicks. Your £400 polish sounds like it could damage the paintwork. You can't polish a caravan like you polish a car, the paint is much thinner.

I have seen this problem with covers, sometimes even worse it has rubbed through the gel coat. This is why I never recommend any cover on caravans or motorhomes. As someone said earlier the manufacturers of these covers absolve themselves of any comeback by stating in the instructions something along the lines of not being used in bad weather conditions Also from a professional point of view £400 seems a bit steep to me, but then again I always charge reasonable prices
