Got one indeed got two because I sent the first one back. The new one has me living in house round the corner - not even backing onto me. It took me 200 yards past the pub last night before telling me I had reached my destination. It always want s to send me left through our village and not right directly onto the main road. No idea why. Market Place Durham does not exist according to the machine. And the place I wanted to visit was in the next street according to the POI section. Apart from that - perfect so far. It will get another chance or two to be tested otherwise it goes back and a refund will appear. It is an expensive piece of equipment that so far does not pass my test. I bought it because I thought the Caravan Club would be a good advert for it - trust etc etc. Now I see they have brought it down £20. Is perhaps because it is not selling?

Anyone who has an iPhone will do better to get the app for that or the iPad.
It costs under 50 quid and you get free maps for life together with maps covering western Europe and the Uk and Ireland.
Ok so it doesn't support caravan dimensions and finding caravan routes specifically - but weigh that against more up to date maps and internet searching from within the app to give you much better info on the places you visit and where a phone number appears in a search you can dial it just by clicking on it, and its a winner.
A little common sense in the route planning and bob could well be your uncle! I'm a fan at any rate.
Mmm, only one person has one! and not impressed by the sound of it - perhaps it's not such a godd pressie to buy somebody then.
IPhone/iPad app - wouldn't that be expensive to use on the continent and wouldn't it need the iPad to have cellar connection?
TomTom would be fine, didn't know they did 'caravan maps'.
Personally I use a map and very occasionally an ancient TomTom with Archies POI.
Thanks everybody.
Whats caravan maps ?? or do you mean upgrading your tomtom to change from a car to a car and caravan ?? so it changes the routes like the tom tom truck
We bought the TomTom Camping and Caravan version and have tested it and it is spot on plus Halfords are doing a deal on it at present and it with the carry case is £310.
Installed the Caravan Europe on my elderly TomTom and it works very well. 4 different categories of vehicle and yes, it does do differing routes for each. Have a look, back up and support is also very good.

I would just go for a standard Tom Tom unit and then add the caravan maps - works out much cheaper.
You could pick up a Start 25 unit for around £100 and then download the caravan and camper maps direct from Tom Tom for £79.95

We went for the Camping and Caravan version as we ended up going down a lane that was too narrow for the caravan. No fun trying to reverse a caravan up a narrow lane.
We added the CC sites under one category and the CC CLs under another category. Makes searching a lot easier.
