Me and OH are able to have our time off work any time of the year so would never consider going away on Bank Holidays. I drive for a living so spend enough time queueing up during the week
We go to our caravan almost every other weekend so if the weather is bad on a Bank holiday it doesn't bother us. It's still nice to be away from the rat race, seeing all our caravan friends and chillin'
No, would never consider swapping the caravan for foreign holidays.
My son and his family live in the Highlands and my daughter lives in the Lake District so when we visit them it's not always good weather but we still love going there.
Surely you don't have a caravan just for the weather, we couldn't hear ourselves talk last night for the rain it made us laugh - the couple opposite are in a camper and I feel for them with limited space, and those with children who can't run around, but two weeks abroad wouldn't equate to the fun and relaxation of at least 12 weekends away, if you only go once a month.

Is it just me or does anybody else feel it would be better to sell the van and spend the money on flights to somewhere hot ?
There are roads 20 miles south of Dover you know. Keep the 'van & tow it somewhere hot, beats package hols anytime.

Agree, weather doesn't bother me really, it's the relaxation I go for!

Sometimes- so this year we went to Gran Canaria at Easter.
It was lovely having guaranteed sun, but when we were stuck at the airport due to a broken luggage conveyor I remembered why we like the independence of our caravan, plus the amount of times in a year we can go away.
