I have am getting a company car but not until September. It will have breakdown cover for the car only which I can't upgrade. I am going away with my own car and caravan in August and need some cover. I intend on retaining my own car.
So I need a policy which will cover my van only for when I get my co car and a policy that will cover my own car plus van.
I am in the same position so I took out an Asda policy. This covers the car and the van. I didn't find anything for the van only. I suspect this is because the car breaks-down, not the van.
Asda charge £8 ish per month for the UK although a Europe wide option is available. There are others but I found Asda the cheapest.
Hope that helps.

CC mayday with cover for your own car named and personal cover for yourself and wife would do the trick. The cost is £121 I think.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Most breakdown cover policies cover the named person and not the car but surely the company car would be financed independently for business purposes anyway. In that case you would need independent cover for your car and caravan for social and domestic pleasure.
Many breakdown companies will only cover your caravan if it is hitched up at the time of breakdown so if your caravan is pitched on site then you won't be covered for caravan rescue as well. The only policy I know that covers this is RAC Arrival.
Thats why i pay the extra for the RAC, The cheaper options dont seem to cover all the bases.
eg. I break down on the way to my holiday. They will take us to the campsite and arrange repair of the car or arrange for us to return home at the end of our holiday. They will also put the van into storage and then take us home. Where others may only take you to the one destination.
Mayday covers the caravan as well as the car. The only two policies that do this are the CC mayday and CCC arrival

Autoaid covers you (and your spouse) not limited to a specific car and its only £40 for comprehensive recovery. Its a bit like an insurance policy - if you breakdown you have to pay the recovery company and claim the money back from autoaid. This cover also includes caravan or trailer attached to car.
do check the small print...you may have a small discussion on your hands after the event to try to get recovery....the autoaid policy only states in the guidance about repairing or recovering the caravan , so is terribly worded, but should cover you...but the asda policy is even less specific, and there is more so the implication about repair as it wont cover you within 1/4 mile of home or storage location.
policies are not very specific and often indicate that the coverage is only for the car breaking down....or that it will be entitled to the same service, but this actually means that only if the car breaks down, then the caravan will of course be recovered assuming it was attached at the time.
i have had the pleasure of suffering no cover after an accident. the reason that the caravan was untowable was as a result of the brakes not functioning on the caravan. the cover i have on my lease car would only take it if the car had broken down too. fortunately my caravan insurance paid out as it was as a result of an accident.
i am trying to find something for France at the moment as i am in the same boat, and have a full euro policy free with the car, but it will only recover the caravan if the car has broken down.
Mayday is easily the best in my opinion, ive just renewed mine by dd, I think it was £64, so with cc membership its still cheaper than the aa and rac, and no limits on length or width
We're also struggling at the minute...our company car breakdown cover with AA will cover a caravan at an extra charge to us, but our caravan is too long!!! It's not like it's a huge thing...Adria altea!
many cover the car and van if the its the car that breaksdown but if its the caravan that breaksdown your not covered, caravan club mayday cover the breakdown of the van too. if that makes sense.
I had AA cover but the policy was too vague on the caravan. I switched to RAC arrival. I had to use it last year on the way home as the car's clutch was slipping. They recovered car and caravan. Took the caravan to storage and car home.
Veema your van probably isn't too long. For some reason the length most of these break down company's quote is the body length rather than overall length.
Call them to check as we thought we had the same issue until checking small print.
