Just been to a site in Tywyn Wales,
A owner of a dog who has his van sited went out and left it for a few hours yapping away. Why do people do this it drove me nuts,I get this at home so when i go away I just want peace.
So dog owners out there please don't leave your dog unattended how do you know it is not yapping as soon as your have gone away from it.
that's my moan done
Same as above. I would complain to the site owners. It's usually one of the rules that you don't leave dogs unattended anyway. And the dog is obviously stressed as well.
No accounting for some dog owners. I wouldn't dream of leaving my two Cockers alone. They go everywhere with me. One reason for having a caravan is to give the dogs a holiday as well.

I've been alone a few times, and it is hard going for a shower... I ended up going in the evenings, and putting my dog in the car and driving over to the showers and parking... only across the field, but at least she was just outside so I could hear her. She loves being in the car though, and behaves well, so that's when we went! She howls if I leave her in the caravan on her own, I only made that mistake once! Fortunately there were nice neighbours who let me know.
And I went in the evening after the sun went down, so that the car was cool enough for the dog to be comfortable.

Presumably Ferretman (I know dreadfully un PC of me to assume) is looking forward to the dogs not being around so you can shower together!

We leave ours very occasionally. As long as she has her favourite toy she's fine. We have always asked our neighbours if they had heard her and they always say no.She is used to being left for short periods at home and she's all right.
Too many dog owners see their pets as kids of sorts. They just do not realise that if you havent a dog, you really have no interest in theirs.
You do not want it running snapping at you (even when tethered) as you pass their pitch; nor do you want it doing its business in front of your pitch, even if they do scoop it up afterwards. But, this happens regularly.
I could guarantee that if i sat out with my radio on really loud, there would be annoyance from all quarters, and rightly so. Why then is a noisy, disruptive dog - or kid for that matter, any different?
We are lucky. Our little dog is not a yapper, she hardly ever barks. She just sits quietly whilst she is tethered, watching the world go by.
TBH the majority of dogs on sites are very well behaved.
Our dog loves being in the van and loves a bit of peace when we take the kids out and he's left on his own.
I'm not irresponsible, he has water, food plenty air conditioning, a place to shade, his bed, his toy. And he rarely if ever barks.
But it's typical of the anti-dog brigade who are sometimes worse than the anti-kid brigade.
That said the dog owner in the original post should have been told, maybe she doesn't know her dog yelps?
------------- Who needs travel agents,we have our static
we have a rescue dog (cavalier king charles) i dont take it away as i know it will bark the moment we go out of site.so my mum looks after it,better for the dog and us.
