We have been caravanning for many years and currently have a Bailey Senator California 2009. Two years ago we purchased a 2006 Kia Sorento 2.5 as we had read rav reviews about this vehicle as a towcar. We have had nothing but problems with ours culminating in the engine failing and basically the car is a write off. We will have to replace it at some stage but are now really worried about getting the right car and do not want to waste any more money. We have a limited budget (as do most of us) and cannot afford a new car. Any ideas would be really appreciated.
Always thought the Kia was a good reliable car, looks like you got the friday afternoon one.
I towed a Bailey Senator Arizona with my 2003 Nissan Xtrail.
Fantastic tow car, bought it at 2 years old and still have it and would recommend, although I'm sure you'll get many recommendations from others. I have just put the X through it's 10th MOT and never had a query...............Mick

Many thanks Mick. Will look at the X Trail as you do see a lot of those on campsites. We thought the Kia was a good tow car when it worked but we had so many problems with it. It's only done 90,000 miles but of course you never know what happened to it before we had it I suppose. Yes, obviously a Friday afternoon job. It's put me off another one though.
I bought a 1994 shogun 7 years ago with 83000 mls, it has now done 118000, total spend on service & parts over 7 years, is £6200, not bad for 35000 mls of towing. Purchase price, £1700.
i dont do a lot of mileage so dont mind the lousy fuel economy.. i will still keep the one i have owned for eight years now.. this one will be a spare.. he he
2005 was the first UK registration date.. 95 when it was first made in Japan..
cars pretty much have to be scrapped in japan when they get to ten years old.. its one big traffic jam so they cant go anywhere in them.. they are more statues symbols than anything else..
they arrive over here with very low mileage in nearly as new condition for a new life.. he he
it is getting a bit hard to find really nice ones..
i dont really need another one the one i have goes perfectly well that one is very pretty though.. :)
the mileage is also 83,000 the odometers are in kilometres.. the 134,500 is the kilometre reading..
