Hi, Thinking of changing from Bailey to Adria this year, and wondered if anyone has anything bad or dislike about their Adria's ? Anyone have a damp model ? I think Venture Caravans in Daventry seem like a reputable company ! unless you know different. Would this be a good place to start looking into them ? Would appreciate your thoughts.........Cheers.

We too had an Adria, great vans and cheap, well they were when we bought one but they appear to have increased somewhat in the last couple of years.

We paid £11995 for a brand new 542DT Sportline ( Venture Special ) including a Kampa Carnival full awning then sold it 2 years later for not much less as the new price had crept up to around £16k.

They are great vans, remind me a little of IKEA inside but not in a bad way. They don't appear to have any ingress issues, despite their relatively low sales volumes you will find it hard to find anyone online with leaky issues. They tow well but are known to be a little nose heavy due to the longer than average A frame, careful loading required.

If you are buying 2nd hand look out for the heating as most are gas only. This costs dearly if your wife is like mine! I fitted the ultra heat upgrade to ours which cost £300 fitting it myself.

Changed from Bailey to Adria 3 years ago and never regretted it. Superior build quality compared to any of the British built vans I've owned in the past and never a hint of damp on it's last service.
The only thing I've found that I don't like is the position of the front side lights. I think they are to low down and in line with the mirrors on the car. When driving in the dark keep catching sight of the off side marker light in corner of my eye and mistakenly think it's an overtaking vehicle.. Pics on profile if you're interested....Mick

We bought a 2006 Adria 532UP 2 yrs ago - absolutely love it. It is a quality built van, no signs of damp on any of its services.

Would definitely recommend them.

We traded in our Bailey at Venture in Daventry for an Adria and have never looked back. Absolutely love it and would highly recommend Adria vans and the excellent service from Venture.

As checkley1973 said above ours came without the Truma electric heating (only gas) The Truma kit was about £140 and was really easy to fit.

Not had any problems with anything in the Van and no damp issues at all. They are also excellent vans to tow due to the long A-frame.

Can't think of any negatives...

Thanks to everyone who took time to reply. Will be calling into Venture soon I'm sure. Would like a twin fixed bed model ! and maybe upgrade the car as this is over due too. But that's for another time.

On my second Adria, and wouldn't consider any other make,we both love it,it's well built and I have no prob's with damp etc, ours is the 2009 Adora plus642UP the one where you have the choice of two single beds or pushing them together to make a huge double,as the beds are the biggest I've ever come across.looking now at the new Adora models
As for Venture,I didn't buy from them but went and had a look around their vans, seems to be a good company,we had no pressure off them to buy, they let us wander around and answered all our questions, their service/repair shop looks organised,so try them, they seem a lot more professional then their rival dealers

Looks like the upgrade kit is circa £235 now. I must have been overcharged on mine ....

I have just looked back through my emails and I paid £165 for the kit in Feb 2014, but looking around now they all seem to be around £235

Looks like I got a very good deal, although I didn't realise it at the time !

I believe all the new vans have electric heating fitted as standard so it might not be an issue anyay.

We are on our first caravan, an Adria and really pleased with it. We have Venture's own "Sportline" which is an upgrade on the Altea (in our case the Trent) with microwave, electric heater, Heiki rooflight and a few other bits and pieces. We went to venture's Hitchin branch and found the service great.
The sportline page is here

only if you buy the Venture dealer specials, the standard Altea is still gas only.
