Hi All,

This may sound like a silly question so I apologise in advance but Google is not providing the answers in this case!

We're going to Cornwall in a couple of weeks in the van for our Summer holiday.  We plan to travel down during the early hours to miss some of the traffic and so the children can sleep for the majority of the journey.  We expect to arrive around 9-10am however we can't pitch up until 2pm. 

Ideally I would like to find a car park in Padstow or somewhere en route that will allow us to park the car and van up so we can spend the morning and have lunch somewhere before heading the campsite in the afternoon.

Does anybody have any recommendations?  All the council car parks I've found say not suitable for tourers but I'm hoping others have had this quandary and found a solution.

Unfortunately not!  They offer a facility to allow you onto the pitch early for a fee but only if the pitch is empty from the night before and ours are booked.

We may be finding a suitable layby at this rate!

Thanks all for the suggestions.  I'm still hunting for something suitable but will give the tourist board a call.

We wanted to leave the caravan hitched up to the car in a car park for the morning so would put wheel lock and hitch locks on etc. for security. 

Also thought it might be worth trying some other sites that may have some areas that we could pay to park up for a few hours.
