hi
we are still in the process of searching for our next caravan.
We have noticed that most caravans with fixed beds without an end bathroom have their toilet emptying on the awning side.
Has anyone with such a layout come across any problems with toilet in effect opening into awning.
Every van we have previously owned had cassette toilet opening on other side and hubby having doubts, which is restricting our choice.
regards
We have an Adria Sportline 532 UP (dealer special of Altea Trent) fixed Island bed with toilet not on the awning side. Worth a look?

My last caravan was a Swift Dealer Special Rockingham from White Arches Caravans and that had a fixed bed, bathroom across the back and toilet emptying on the off side so they are out there.
We had a Bailey Ranger 520/4 fixed bed where the toilet was on the awning side. However, we only had a porch awning so it was outside it.
For a couple, a porch awning may be big enough and a lot easier and quicker to put up. We preferred it as it left the lounge window free, so more light and didn't impede the view.
We were looking at toilets to the side as opposed to end bathroom to hopefully gain longer day beds at the front of van.
Our last van was a twin axle fixed bed, and we are hoping on getting a smaller van but trying to keep longish front beds for our teens.
looking to buy secondhand older vans as wanting to buy a family van to use here in GB and possibly a small 2 berth to use in France.

it is something that has always bothered me, when the toilet is on the awning side, not just regarding the emptying of it, but what if you have people in the awning sat around having a drink and you feel the need for the loo? I do like privacy and with only less than 2 inches between me and them I wouldn't find this arrangement very comfortable at all!
I also wouldn't be keen due to the process of removing the cassette and any possible spillages of either waste or chemicals, I know this shouldn't happen but well there is always a slight chance
ours is on the awning side no problem whatsoever indeed it is easier especially on sites that are hedged you need more space between the hedge and the van to remove the cassette even if the water barrels are on the outside like ours go for it bite the bullet and stop worrying
Ours is on the awning side never gave us a problem regards to leakage as long as seals have not perished what is the problem people will make mountain out of a mole hill If you are worried about your friends hearing you pee your best of in a travel lodge have we forgot what camping is all about to many glampers around if you ask me
HELP Please we have now got a fixed bed caravan and we are not sure how to load it for travel we seen to be sitting front down but nose wieght gauge says its less than its allowed we have an 2006 Abbey GTS 415 can anyone help
