I went to a local stockiest who said they have no CalorLite bottles and did no know when they would get any. They told me nothing about the problem with them leaving it for me to discover it when I looked on the Internet. I'm not impressed and will move back to a different size and type which is cheaper anyway.
The 6kg CalorLite® gas bottle is unavailable to purchase online but is available through our network of stockists. Use our online stockist finder , or call Calor Gas direct 0800 662 663 to find your local stockist.
We have issued a product recall on all 6kg CalorLite manufactured between 2008-2011 inclusive. For further information visit calor.co.uk/recall
What problem? The recall issue is for older ones as specified and were replaced free of charge even for empty bottles.
No problems with new ones and never had a problem getting them to be honest. I stocked up on a second on before our main French hols this year and no worries getting one.
If you want a lightweight decent size bottle with reasonable availability for most then not a lot of choice to be honest

Never had a problem obtaining Calorlite bottles, we've had both of ours replaced under the recall scheme. Have you tried Go Outdoors as they stock the Calorlite in our area.
I think some stockists are still having problems getting stock of the Calor Light bottles since the recall, but from my experience if you avoid the big stockists and go to smaller stockists you can get them quite easily.
I tried Go Outdoors Oxford and they have none but suggested I drive 30 miles or so to Swindon to try there but I couldn't stand the excitement.
I then tried every other outlet in the Oxford Abingdon area and none had any. I tried Calor Help but after hanging on for an excessive time they lost my connection so it looks as though I will have to buy one of the old bigger, heavier and cheaper bottles if I want to go away this weekend. That means as it will not fit in my gas locker I need to find a way to secure it while I travel and then buy a length of chain to secure it to my camper when I set up so thanks a lot Calor. The sooner they go bankrupt and get taken over the better.
Whats wrong with the 30 mile return drive to Swindon or Basingstoke? Well the first answer is that I don't want to spend money on driving there when the incompetent idiots who run Calor can't stock my local stores.
The second answer is that I refuse to pay six pence a minute for the privilege of spending my money with them.
I have in the past bought refills of Calor Lite from our local go outdoors in Coventry but they have had no stock for months as I check their website a couple of times a week after being told they didn't know when the would get any in.
Our nearest caravan dealer can't get any and other listed Calor stockists nearby do not stock the lite bottles.
I would be interested to hear of anywhere with stock in South Warwickshire.
You must have to get lucky. My local dealer told me he would refuse to sell me one even if he had one in stock as he finds it almost impossible to get them.
Try ringing the CC site at Woodstock, they will usually have a supply of them.
------------- Bill
For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
No problem with stock in Herefordshire.
I've got a spare full Calorlite, manufactured in 2015, if you are interested, but you'd better be quick because I'm off on a long jaunt early Saturday.

Then find BP gas stockist or use Camping Gaz or invest in refillable.
problem is many people like me only use maybe 2 3 bottles a years perhaps so end up sitting on two Calorlites for a long while and stock needs to be beefed up arguably to meet demand at some points
Whilst I have a couple of Calorlites as back in the shed I changed over to a couple of 10 kg BP-lights as they hold much more gas and do so with a tare weight of 3.25 kgs, ie they are lighter than Lites. One of my better moves as I find these excellent to use, they feature a clip-on connector and competitively priced stock is readily available close to home for 10 kgs at much the same price as Calor want for their 6 kg Lites.
Being generally off EHU caravanners we get through much more gas than many do so need a better solution than Calor offer.
Edit: on checking I find I had the BP light tare wrong, the one I have in the shed is 5.3 kgs.

Sorry; just been checking and had my Tare facts wrong.
The BP light I have to hand is 5.3 kgs
The two Calor-lites I have are 9 lb 10 oz and 9/12, so are respectively 4.37 and 4.42 Kgs.
