Looking to buy our first brand new caravan for 2016. We've narrowed down to Swift challenger/conqueror or Bailey unicorn - 2 berth.
Any thoughts and preferences please.
I have only owned a Swift however we were looking at second hand vans today after we dropped ours off for some work, the Swifts were definitely looking less worn than the Baileys.
We have had both but find we get better MPG towing the Swift than the Bailey due to Swifts aerodynamic shape front. Also have found Swift better at any claim for any warranty work needed.
We have a bailey at the moment . It's not good .
Have you looked at the coachman . This would be my other choice. Their two berths are lovely .
If you go on looks / styles bailey are very attractive . Just a shame about the quality .
Two berths are very spacious with end bathrooms . So you have a lot to choose from .
No makes are perfect but it's worth looking at what type of problems and how long the warranty is for also don't forget to check what it covers. 4 years goes very quick when your having problems .
I think it would be worth finding a GOOD main dealer near you and buy what they sell. At the end of the day all vans can potentially have problems but a good dealer will sort them out with the minimum of fuss.
We are lucky being near Chipping Sodbury Caravans who are excellent and main dealers for Bailey which are made 12 miles away from where we live. Our new Bailey 520/4 in 2010 was fault free for the 3 years we owned it.
Perhaps a one manufacturer dealer would be better as well as they may have more knowledge and back up from the manufacturer.
Thank you all for your views - it's so useful to hear others' experiences.
What I need, is all of the 2016, 2 berth models lined up in a row so I can go from one to another and make a choice instead of having to drive miles to different dealers!!
