My husband and I have recently purchased a caravan from his parents. The paperwork we were given do not correspond with our van at all, I've tried identifying its year of make and model on websites to no avail. According to the sites I've used it's was not made in the UK so have no idea what I am supposed to do. Also in accordance to the sites I've used the model is not listed either as the did get representing it's model is a letter N. Apparently it's year of make could be 2001 as the tenth number is a 1, however our little van really doesn't look like it was made then.
Any suggestions please would be most welcome. Oh I should say according to my in-laws it's a freedom microlite?
Do you have the CRIS registration document and if so does the paperwork have the same number as marked on all the windows?
Does it look like a Freedom Microlite?
Freedom vans are built abroad so do not have a CRIS number unless the owner has registered the van with CRIS so some of the letters denoting manufacturer etc will not tie up.

I have a CRIS document but for a completely different model and CRIS number on it! So unfortunately it's of no use I am afraid. As for it looking like a freedom microlite I would have to say not exactly, sorry I am not much help. My husband has found that SW could mean it may be manufactured in Poland.
Thank you for your reply
A Saturn 5 berth lunar caravans actually I must apologize as it's the national caravan council certificatei have and not the CRIS document. I've gone through the paperwork again and that's all I could find. Everything else in the pack is on toilet, a cooker ( ours doesn't have one) and fridge and various other bits to the battery.
Sorry it's vague but it's all I have
If you do a quick search on Google images you'll find plenty of Freedom caravans, they haven't changed much over the years and are very distinctive due to the one piece fibreglass body. If it doesn't look like a Freedom see if it looks like a Lunar Saturn, somebody may have got their brochures etc muddled and handed over the wrong paperwork at some point.
I suppose the other obvious thing to do is count the beds but I am sure you've done that already.
Most definitely not a Lunar Saturn, particularly not a 5 berth as ours is a 2 berth. It doesn't look like a freedom microlite from the pictures I've been looking at. There's 1066 decal with pinstripes along length if that's any help? Also on back of van there's N216
Freedom caravans are not uncommon in the UK, they are made in Poland. It's not that important about the vin number, nobody is likely to want to check it, there is no compulsory registration of caravans in the UK & no legal requirement to insure them, you are insured for 3rd party risks while towing on your comp. car insurance so only need to insure caravan is for fire/theft/damage.
Provided caravan is road legal, ie running gear seviced with tyres & lights good then you are ok to use it.
Put a photo on your profile page and perhaps somebody will be able to help identify it. Is it a single piece fibreglass body? Pop up roof? Door on the "wrong" side? Is there a manufacturers plate on it with the weights etc? The plate might be beside the door or possibly on the a frame and would give a manufacturer if not a model name.
Katty if you care to email me at **** I will send you a manual for freedom vans I found on the net which I'm sure you will find handy even if it's not your exact model.
