I would like to sterilise the water system and in the past on my previous Crusader have used Puriclean, dissolved in the Aquaroll and drawn into the system to leave for s few hours. Then draining off , refilling with water and rinsing through.
Problem is on my last Crusader the water filter on the Whale system was on the pipe immersed in the Aqaroll which I woukd change for a new filter after sterilising.
On my current van it us equipped with the Whale Aquasmart system
which has the pump suspended in the Aquaroll with an inline filter under the sink.
I am concerned that if I use the same procedure is there any chance of the Aquasmart pump in the Aquaroll picking up any small undissolved Puriclean and causing damage to the pump as the fiilter is after the pump not before as on my previous van?
I woukd of course still change the in line filter after sterilising the system.
Thanks
Milton and similar products have instructions to avoid contact with metal surfaces so I don't use them now in case they damage the water heater. I still use Milton to do the Aquaroll.
Have just looked at our bottle of milton and it does say to avoid prolonged contact with metalic objects, how long is prolonged? It's a bit like how long is a piece of string! There isn't any mention on there about undiluted, bearing in mind that I think milton was originally for sterilizing babies bottles (how many metal baby bottles have you seen?) I think I would rather be safe than sorry! those combi boilers aren't cheap.

If you all want to spend some time with you ass up at the loo use Milton or what ever you think but,Puriclean is meant to clean out pipes etc and kill other organisms which live in pipes and tanks which have not been sterilised for ages.
On site where i am, I have seen to many campers saying my water heater as just jacked it. soaking there vans and camper vans, The tanks were like sieve`s,But on the other hand, was this caused by metals in the water on some site`s, Electrolysis.
------------- Roughing it in style at Calloose caravan and camping holiday park nr St Ives.(seasonal pitch)

Some time back there was a reply to a similar question on another forum by caravan heater/water tank manufacturer, think it was Truma. They said to leave the Milton solution in contact with the tank for no longer than 1 hour. Milton say 15minutes is long enough to sterilise the system. That's about the time I leave it, I have tried Puriclean but find it never completely dissolves, even when trying it in a jug of warm water before putting in the aqua roll . Prefer Milton, recommended by both major clubs and caravan manufacturers.

Seconded

Draw it through all taps and the shower, once the aquaroll has emptied go refill, then draw that through and refill, spend the rest of the year drinking out the taps as normal.
Have not died yet.
