Hi, I'm new to the website and caravanning and was wondering if anyone has tried the Anderson (USA) or Froli curved wheel levellers, that lift the wheel as it rolls over it?
Im an experienced woodworker and can make a plywwod stepped ramp, but the Froli is smaller and lighter. Anyone tried both?
Thanks for your help.

I haven't seen these before but I think the Anderson leveller looks fantastic. It might be hard to obtain here though. All the best ideas seem to come from the USA.

At £209 for the combo pack I will be happy with the Froli levellers.
Why would you want to buy the combo pack? We only have the twin axle version which cost us £139 and it is worth every penny as we can even use it to change a wheel on our twin. Can't do that with the Froli and neither can you line up the ALKO secure lock.

I have ordered two of the Froli levellers for our twin axle. At £35 including postage I think they are worth a try.
Anyone know if the Froli's work with motor movers?

Why can you not change a wheel with the froli? Just put one under the other wheel and reverse onto it. I had alko secure locks but gave up on them as they are a hassle and our insurance doesn't require them. Thieves have learnt how to overcome them.
Changing the subject a little, Ive just realised that the Froli ramp will interfere with my motor movers, so can anyone tell me if a motor mover will push the caravan up a Milenco Quattro ramp, or if driven up it, is there a risk of wheel spin on a front wheel drive Vectra?

You can try change a wheel with your Froli, but I would prefer the lock n level which is a safer option. I have never heard of thieves being able to remove the ALKO Secure so would be grateful if you could provide a link where this has happened. Thanks.
Are levelers an absolute necessity for caravans?
I'm new to caravans, but had an FC for many years ... we only ever used levelers once in nine years ...
I'd be grateful for advice ... we only holiday on continental pitches (not sure if that makes any difference!)
AL-KO Secure wheel locks can be overcome, but it involves time, noise and oxy-acetylene.
A problem if your caravan is very valuable and you store it in a remote area.
But security is never about absolute impregnability - it's about being sufficiently difficult to overcome that thieves will see the device and go on to the next caravan with the cheapo lock (or no lock at all).
So it's always perplexed me that AL-KO choose to mount the receiver where the lock will be obscured by the awning and where thieves will have trashed your stuff before they see the bloody thing!
As far as levellers go, use a ramp or Froli (which indeed looks as it would foul motor movers and stresses the amount of space it needs) or inflatable bags, but steer clear of the Milenco Aluminium Leveller device whichjacks the 'van up using a screw mechanism: it takes ages to use, is heavy on the arms, and doesn't even jack that high. 90 quids worth of junk.
