Buy a length of "figure of 8" to join the skirt and wheel arch cover
Agreed-this usually comes with your awning? Alternatively, Isabella now do a neat channel section rail that is bonded to the van, so no hooks to slide down the van or leave dirty rings...

However if you look at capers picture his wheel arch cover doesn't have any beading to attach a figure of eight to. As per my earlier link you can buy a wheel arch cover kit for about £10 that includes a cover with beading and a figure of eight.
The awning skirt has only sagged because it has moved along the channels it is attached with.
You will usually find that it has some holes for pegging.
If you peg it to the ground at both ends, it will not be able to move along the channel, and problem solved.

Hi,
It was pegged at each end, I even tried to attach it to sucker-hooks, but it still sagged.
I suppose it's a bit like me, getting on a bit and starting to sag in certain places .....

Cut a piece of ply (1/4") to fit inside wheel arch and touch ground fit length of awning rail to ply level with skirt rail slide skirt through when in place pull taunt peg each end
As Woodman said - you need to peg the skirt - but from the top not the bottom. Therefore you need 2 short pieces of rope (about a metre) attached to the top of the skirt (there should be a ringed hole) then peg these ropes. That will keep it tight.
If there are no holes you will have to buy a clamp. It is one that grips the skirt when you pull it tight - not sure what they are called. Someone else may know.
