great shop they had and often went over myself for bits and bobs. Will be missed, i can remeber them across the road as well, before it went to a car showroom.

Only spotted it yesterday as I drove past. Guess I'll have to find another place to get my gas and bits and pieces.
I've found the shop at Don Amott in Hilton reasonably priced, and has loads of bits and bobs. If they don't have want you want, they are happy to order it in. The manager, Andy, is really helpful.

Have to say that I've been in for a couple of bits in the last year and they were ok... certainly much better than they used to be a few years ago.
Derby Caravan Centre on Sir Frank Whittle Way are approved by Elddis to do servicing on any of their Caravans, and keep within their warantee requirements by doing so. They also service and repair most makes of caravans.
I beleive the founders of this company had strong links with the old Derby Caravans when they had the showroom across the road a few years ago, with some of the staff having once worked there in the service department.

Indeed Ray, bought a Swift Covette from them many years ago.
I've never seen a caravan dealer or service centre on Sir Frank Whittle Way.
I use Long Eaton Caravans - they are also happy to do warranty work if the manufacturer allows them.
The 3 posts above decrying Kimberly Caravans are making me nervous. I have just bought a new Coachman VIP 575 from them having suffered Robinsons for nearly 6 years . Can you explain further.

For my part .... the defunct Derby Caravan Centre had always stocked lots of 'little' spares for water systems etc. Don Amott is the next closest and is now THE closest and to be fair has improved. Kimberley I have found not to carry such a wide range of spares.
Purchasing - I have never bought from Derby Caravan Centre, Amott's or Kimberley for the simple reason that their deals have always been £2-£3k more than where I do buy from.

Never heard of Derby caravan centre on Sir Frank Whittle way. Or did you mean the old one on London Road?
It's actually in the small estate on Stores Road parallel to Frank Whittle Way. Workshop only, in a corner unit
Yes indeed, its just along from the Barclays Business centre, sorry for the confusion, its not a dealership as such, but it is a fully approved workshop for many of the leading makes of caravan.
It was Elddis who recomended it to me as a local alternative to towing down to Warwickshire everytime we need a service doing and to keep in line with our warantee terms and conditions.
