Just been away , used electrics on campsite all week no problem. Come to pack away, unhooked lead from campsite hook up but when come to remove from van electrics the plug is completely stuck and won't budge !! Had to travel home with lead still connected to van and the rest of cable through the van window. Home now and still stuck solid. Any thoughts please ?
Hi, there is no tab it's basically it's one end of the cable that has 3 holes and then that attaches to the 3 pins in the electric box on outside of the caravan, it just pushes in and usually pulls out.. but not budging!!
We had the same problem with our first van. The ehu cable pins became melted/fused onto the van's pins (caused by a loose connection). We took it as a sign that we needed to upgrade

Ours is only just over a year old so can't use that excuse yet .... 😀
The picture Grampian posted shows the flap. If you haven't got a flap then there is nothing to stop the plug pulling out, I expect you have melted the pins by drawing a lot of current.
The pins and sockets are rated to carry 16A continuosly and at least 23A for up to a hour, you can't draw enough current to melt the pins.
If there is a loose connection that will overheat and could weld the pins to the socket.
On my van there is a lever on the left hand side of the socket which you need to pull up to release the plug.

It's so confusing as we just pull flap back then plug the end into the caravan. The flap doesn't connect or hold anything on it just folds back and plug in. When taking it out we normally just pull it out. We have been connected to a ehu hook up all week. Not sure what amp it was but just standard . Can't post pic on here to show what looks like but basically like above
Right, so it has got a flap. When you push the plug in there is a bit on the edge of the flap which goes over a knobby bit on the caravan and stops the plug from coming out. To remove the plug you need to lift the flap slightly to clear the knobby bit and pull the plug out. If you have tried this already then it sounds like the pins have melted.

Yes pull flap right back but plug won't come out. If pins have melted is it easy to repair and would it come under warranty as only just over year old ?
