PLEASE CAN YOU HELP
We are new to motor movers and the caravan we have just brought has got this one on and did mover a bit then stopped and all it is doing is clicking please can anyone give some advice
It's acarver single axale motor mover
Yes the battery is brand new leasure battery and shows fully charge and we have changed the remote battery’s but still just clicking in the caravan where the main box is for the mover
Try operating the mover when the rollers are not in contact with the tyres. If the rollers move freely then try again with the rollers touching the tyres. If the mover doesn't work when in contact with the tyres then check the battery with a voltmeter and charge if neccessary. Is it possible that the handbrake on the caravan is not fully off or the brakes are sticking?
Thanks for you response but it is still clicking when the motor mover is not connected to the tyre also the hand break seems to be fine we checked the battery and that is very full and is brand new at first it was working for around 30 seconds then just started clicking inside in the control box for the mover
Have you tried turning off the big red key and turning it on again? This used to work for us on our old van, also don't stand too far away from the control box in the caravan when you operate the handset, on our old van standing on the "wrong" side caused problems sometimes.
There should be a master switch operated by a red plastic key usually situated in the battery box. This is to isolate the mover from the rest of the electrical system. I presumed you had already switched this on for the mover to work in the first place.
Not all movers have the "big red key" - the Carver mover is probably quite old from a time when the isolation switch wasn't part of the fitting. It is quite possible that the handset has given up BUT give TRUMA a ring and describe what is happening - I have always found them to be helpful.( Truma took over Carver) Here and scroll down for tech phone number.
We had the same problem with our last van and a truma motor mover, it was a few years ago now but I seem to remember the dealer telling me to reset the black box inside the van, ours was located under a front seat and somewhere on that box was a little button, the type you have to stick a pin or other thin object into, this apparently resets the system.
Our troubles were only really sorted when we purchased a new battery that had a big label on that said suitable for motor movers.
I hope this helps in some way, I know how frustrating and confusing it can be.
I have an old Carver mover on my van which I have swapped off previous two vans. Mine clicks when there is not enough power in the battery, putting a volt meter on the battery may show it's full but under load it will drag it down. Try recharging the battery.
