Just want to get the views and feelings of people and the locals. We have had this booked since December but feel we might be a bit selfish about still going.Campsite says they will be open 6th July but under restrictions so we can go.What are peoples views of travelling half way down the country do you think we will be welcome.
Of course this will be only if unlimited travel is allowed but do not fancy travelling so far and not being welcomed by locals
Sorry, 500 miles, didn't have my glasses on! are you a member of either club? if so, you could stay at one of the 5 van sites, much preferable imo to motorway services.
Yes member of both sometimes we do that
Depends when we can leave mostly early evening
But i have in the past done 500 odd miles to Devon/Cornwall in one go when the sites have an overnight area
I am a Driver for work so isn't a problem like just doing a shift

Of course you're not being selfish...it may help to take away some southern virus with you when you go
I would advise that you wear gloves and use copious amounts of hand gels whenever you stop to refuel or stay overnight so that you don't contract the virus from the pumps or other surfaces en route and then pass it on to all us southerners.
I have come to the conclusion that most people have given up on the lock down and have just resigned themselves to the fact that at some time they may get the virus so they might as well enjoy life in the meantime. By the comments on these boards most caravanners feel they are safe enough inside their tin boxes so go for it - lol.

The border may stop you going to far my niece can't go on more than five miles for her home so can't get to any shops outside the village she lives in
It is still another month yet so maybe a lot will have changed by then
hello to a fellow fifer, personally id be checking first that you can get into cornwall even if the site is open. It may be open for locals only, and it would be terrible to drive all that way pulling a caravan only to get turned away.

Most people just want to get life back on track, the op's holiday is 4 weeks away so plenty of time for things to settle even more

Lol I had been talking about Cornwall literally a minute before I posted and still had it in my head. Had you said you were going to Inverness I’d probably still have said Cornwall.
Hopefully you get away, in fact I’m praying you do, as that means I can go to mine as well
