The caravan was serviced in February by our mobile engineer, but I have just realised that I forgot to get the handbook stamped. We have all the documents and receipt. How important is this?
Getting the Service book stamped is not all that important. The invoice is the main document. (The reason for this is because "anyone can stamp a Service book" - without the caravan being serviced at all).

Thanks, I wonder why it is considered important then?
It's not really. The only time it may be beneficial to have is when changing ownership - but the Invoices are much better proof than the service record.
There were no invoices with my van's paperwork (but everything else you would expect) when I purchased it, Lunar did the transfer of remaining warrantee into my name solely on the service record book!
People keep invoices for their personal financial records and don't always pass them on, the service book goes with the van and may be the only service history available.
The rubber stamp's worth depends on age/value of your van, any outstanding warrantee that may be transferable etc. Personally, I'd ask the service guy to complete the service book record if at all possible. If you are having the same guy to do next year, then Feb isn't so far off, it'll wait, unless you want to sell van on before then.

Don't you have to do that when you sell or p/x the van?
Nope you don't have to give them anything. They can also check with the manufacturer regarding servicing of the caravan if they want to transfer a remainder of any warranty.
Thats why you need to upload your service record to Connect Direct, so warranty is maintained. Your service guy should have done that. Have you checked to see if its up to date.

The big question is how old is the caravan and is it still under warranty if not it doesn't matter that much only for the proof of keeping it serviced for resale purposes
