Hi, I am the proud new owner of 'Maud' but can't see where to put the water bottle! There is a foot pump inside the caravan to pump the water into the sink but I can't see where I put the water bottle or where the hose comes out from under the caravan to go into the water-bottle! Can anyone help? Many thanks,

i cant say anything specific to the Monza, but
the foot pump will have an incomming and an outgoing pipe to it
the out going pipe goes to the sink as you say
so follow the other pipe to where it exits the caravan, cant be that hard ,can it.

You would think it should be simple to find, as you say, but I've put my phone camera under the caravan where I think the water pipe should come out, but can't see anything obvious that looks like a pipe coming from the foot pump! Hence the ask if anyone knows more...

Thanks for your response.

Is it possible that there is an onboard tank somewhere and the pump inlet pipe goes to that?

These are going back a few years now. There was usually a nozzle sticking out under the floor or low on side of caravan. You attach one end of a length of hose to it and put the other end in the water can.

Foot pumps were hi tech in those days.

I like these older caravans, they have character. Mine is not quite that old(1992), but it's still a classic in my opinion.

Many years ago I had a Sprite Musketeer that had a footpump for water but I fitted a water tank in one of the lockers along with an electric pump.

Thank you so much for all your posts ... I have found it! Basically, next to the electrics plug in on the side/bottom of the caravan, is two pipe in/out [i think]. I want to add an image to ask you if that's what it is...and also, what i need to get to have the connecton from the 'pipe connectors's in order for the footpump to work!

Those look like water in on the right and waste water out on the left.

You need to measure the outside of the pipes and then get suitable pipes from a caravan dealer if you have one near. They should just push on.

The waste is usually a corrugated plastic now. Water a plastic tube.

Pour some water down the sink and see which hole it comes out of. We had an Avondale Wren of about the same age, the inlet pipe was the same size as a normal garden hose.

Thanks - I'm not sure what I need to buy as there's a foot pump in the caravan so I guess I need a connector to the 'hole' that goes into a water barrel. Then I pump it with my foot in the caravan and bobs yur uncle! I'm in Bristol, so if anyone knows a place I can ask or anywhere online I can buy one, that'd be great, thanks.............................................

no connector needed, just a length of pipe that fits, and then push one end onto the inlet and the other in the barrel, you could possibly put a one way valve on the pipe just to make sure the water stays in the pipe

Alternatively you could get yourself a submersible pump and put it on the end of the pipe into the caravan, and wire the pump to a button near the sink. That way you can have an electric pump pushing water in without all that foot-pumping, but still have the foot-pump as a backup should your battery run low.

Thanks Colin. I think I'll try the simple version with the pipe! Many thanks for your ideas...
