me 47, OH 49 only been in caravan for the last9 years, always camped though had those big ex euro tents(still got the old brown and orange one,. great for the boys as they grew up( youngest now is nearly 21)we use to have a hook up take a fridge and baby belling,   we did have a large trailer, in thoses days not many tents took to electric hook ups and we looked strange in the middle of caravans with our hook up!!!.    Now the boys gone!!(well sort of) we have the caravan, but they still pitch up and they all love camping, and still appear on the same sites as we are on!!! and now will have grand son in tow as well!!

Hi there. Just bought our first caravan, a 2003 Swift and we love it. Me and my wife are both 27 and seasoned campers. We started with a tent, then a pennine pullman and now the 'van. Our two border collies approve greatly as now they have something warm and homely to sleep in. Everyone has made us very welcome bar one or two who immediately think as we are young we are going to party all night. By the way does any one think that in this day and age its acceptable for an insurance company to discriminate against me and my wife because of our age? surely this shouldn't be allowed. What do you think??

Definately not Taffhead but unfortunately they seem to feel the oldies (and we are amongst them, drive more carefully  ( or are too darned old to speed...WRONG.

Talking of party's..The wrost journey back from Ireland was when a group of old farts on a bowing club outing were having a party on the way home on the boat. p*ssed. They were funny to begin with as they were trying to phone each others wives to say that they missed the boat and would have to stay in Ireland ....as they were all so drunk their wives would have killed them (apparently) if they went home . I am sure their wives were not that daft as to believe it as you could hear them prompting each other what to say. .. Then they spent the rest of the journey singing very loudly really out of tune. 90 mins of that after a very tiring week- end at a show and having been up from 2am with a young  party across the road from where we were staying that even after several complaints  was still going strong when we left for the show at 7am.All we wanted to do was sleep before the rest of the journey home.

Do not know who was the worst, the youngsters or the old farts.

From this old fart.

Kate
