Feeling pretty chuffed actually as I have just today had an external 240 power socket, an external aerial socket and a new "UK" spec waste outlet fitted! Yippee! Can't wait for next outing to go try them out!
..and I've finally got my shower tray drain hooked up to a waste pipe so we can now actually use it!
The van is even more perfect than it was before now!
Oooh sounds good! We're caravan-less as my mum is in Scarborough with ours this week. She's got my little girl with her so I'm also childless. I'm veering between melancholy and ecstatic, as I've not had so much time to myself in a year and a half
Great news - well done on buying your van. As you can probably tell, I am a huge Geist fan! LOVE my van and so far it has been brilliant. We bought ours in April this year and have so far done 8 trips.
Had a few towing issues at the start but that was rectified as soon as I installed the spare wheel. Other than that - a great van.
Love ours even more now. We've been on so many trips this year including two weeks in dorset and bank holiday weekend in Norfolk. Can't fault the van plenty of room for two adults and two kids even without the awning up! Our motor mover packed up at beginning of August though which made moving it round onto a pitch last weekend a bit tricky but thanks to some lovely people on the surrounding pitches, we got moved on very quickly with plenty of help offered straight away. And a very kind lady made us a cuppa while we were sorting stuff out.
Message for Yorkshire Pud (in your capacity as Geist expert - hope you don't mind!) - we have a little scratch on one side and wondered whether there is any paint (like you get for cars) that is available that might cover it? Its only about 1 1/2 inches across and was there when we bought it. Thanks. Teresa
If Geist UK dont offer a touch up paint i would think that a good motor factor who supplies the car body repair market would be able to mix you some if you have the paint code, if not they would be able to match the colour by either you taking the whole or part of the van to them, ie a locker door. make sure the door is same as the body of the van.
you can get the paint mixed to the colour required then they would put it in an areosol can for you to spray on, quite simple realy and probally wont cost more than £10.00
a light rub of the surface to get the edges off the scratch and then some primer for Aluminimum and the top coat would hide the scratch if you do a good job, use the finest wet and dry sand paper you can.
Try European motor factors on Gamble st or Russel St, its in the small industrial estate there. they would be able to sell you everything you will need.
Hello all, I'll ring Graeme at Geist in the morning and see if there is such a thing but Pete's suggestion sounds pretty darned good. Back to you soon, Claire
Congrats on your new van, We got ours in June (traded from a swift charisma) and absolutely adore it, We have been out 7 times already including 10 days to a non facility site in Devon and we are so pleased with the van.
They are brilliant, We are in the process of trying to arrange a Geist meet/rally possibly around the Leicester M1 corridor, not sure when yet though if you are interested it would be great if you come along.

Hi all, with reference to Teresa's question about touch-up paint, Geist do sell small spray cans of the LMC white specifically for the Geist/LMC ranges. It's £16.37 plus VAT and postage and you can order it from Geist Gateshead on 0191 415 9455 should you wish to go down that route. Hope this helps.
Thanks for all your replies. I think we will probably phone Geist for a can - thanks for finding that out for me Claire.
We would be very interested in joining a Geist rally and live in the midlands so can travel virtually anywhere. Can you put me on the mailing list please. (Let me know if you need an email address, etc).
I've been reading through this thread with interest, especially as I found Elite caravans website and couldn't understand why they had 07 models as new and so cheap - now I know, so many thanks
I've mailed them to see if they have any left but, if they do, does anyone know what will NOT be included in the sale that is normally on a UK-spec van? This would be my first caravan, so not sure what to check for...
PS: gazmeister, I see you have the 560 which is just what we want - if you plan on selling up anytime soon, bagsy first dibs...
