Has anybody looked at the 10 year water ingress warranty in detail. I am puzzled as to why in the literature I have seen is that it states 6 years water ingress plus 4 years free extended warranty. I wonder if there are conditions attached to the extra 4 years?
Good!! Not that fussed on the interiors but think if buying a new van you would be daft to buy anyhing else with the ingress guarantee, cant afford one for a fewyears noe anyway but all the teething problems will have been addressed by then!! (hopefully!!) LMAO
------------- Jan:Braids Gretna, Feb Stanwix Park Silloth & Braids Gretna,
6 years on the Senator is longer than we would keep a van anyway
We have decided to go for the Senator California as it has the awning rail on both sides .a better gas locker and I prefer the previous pump/tank set up
it will not last long if i tested it it would fail within one hour and i am not jokeing i break everything i test!If it did last a day with me then i would buy one but the last 3 caravans i have tested had faults not this make but i bet it would not last 10 years with its water ingress warrenty!
For anyone who really wants to see them, there are three models on display in Dickinsons in Bradford, West Yorkshire - the 462, two berth, the 534 four berth with fixed bed and transverse bathroom, and the 624 (same layout, bigger bathroom). We had a look around them all this afternoon.
The bathroom in the 534 has just enough room to allow someone who's a size fourteen stand between the washbasin and the wall - and is just a little challenging!
For us the washroom in the Pegasus 534 and Senator California is adequate and bigger than our present Ace Award Nightstar
The front seating area and roof lockers of the Baileys is much more spacious than the Swift equivalent and the wardrobe has adjacent shelves with a door
We have the California and the washroom is certainly plenty big enough and neither of us is particularly small. Very good kitchen area and lots of storage - wardrobe area is superb.
The door on the shelves at the end of the wardrobe and the wardrobe was another one of the decdiding factors in choosing the California over the Swift 570
i had a good look at the nec , thers one problem , were the floor meets the side and the side meets the roof , there is plastic trunking to hide the bolts , now this plastic might stay there in year one or two , but wont be there for any longer , well unless it gets stuck on
We saw them yesterday and were very disappointed in the build quality, on every single one, without fail, the sealant where the plastic panels are fitted was peeling off and there were big gaps between, as nickandsall said the plastic sections were all wobbly and inside the van the gaps around the cupboard door & drawers were of various sizes. It was quite disappointing to be honest, Bailey knew that literally 1000's of people would be there specifically to see their launch so you'd think they'd have been extra careful to make sure each van on display was in superior condition.
I do think the alu-tech body shell idea is a fantastic one though.

.....Apparently the entire unit has to be re-torqued in year 3 ......
Ali
I know nuts and studs on wheels, brackets and the like often need to be 'torqued', but 'entire unit'...?
They don't mean their caravans are totally screwed up, do they?
What does it actually refer to?
