.....Apparently the entire unit has to be re-torqued in year 3 ......
Ali
I know nuts and studs on wheels, brackets and the like often need to be 'torqued', but 'entire unit'...? They don't mean their caravans are totally screwed up, do they? What does it actually refer to?

It refers to the brackets holding the structure of the body together. If you look in the cupboards, you'll see the top has a trim panel at angles to the wall & roof, behind this trim is a bracket bolted through to the capping rail. They say these bolts need to be re-torqued at the third year service.
I haven't seen the brochure covering the Pegasus but I suspect the brackets will be displayed therein.
Thanks - so they're not screwed up, just screwed together....
I wonder if this means that, should one panel be damaged, it could be (relatively) simply unbolted, and a new panel bolted into place? Could be a good idea....

I would think they be easy to take apart, the ones I looked at yesterday all the sealing trims around the front and rear cover panels were coming away or falling into the gaps they were supposed to be covering. Also one of the rear panels a number plate would be fitted to nearly came away in my hand on one van and a near side rear corner trim on another. I stopped touching them after that as I didn't want to break one.

We have just got back from Chipping Sodbury today as well! Put a deposit down on a 534...Van + chest + Power Touch mover will be £16000 delivery Nov/Dec...No trade in as we sold ours privately we are pleased with the deal we got and we just loved the van ..
After reading Val A's post yesterday we called into Dickinsons in Bradford to have a nosey (well, we were driving past anyway, would have been rude not to!!) We did like them, we can see they will appeal to alot of vanners. The onboard water tanks looked small and complicated to use, (nice salesman did demonstrate them to us, and switching over inside van etc) I think we'd stick to an aquaroll. And as had been mentioned before, the 'bumper' bits front and rear were very loose on 3 of the 4 vans on display, but Im sure would be easily rectified. But OH was not at all happy with the small front locker, nowhere to stick all his bits apparently. Although what he actually said to the salesman was "Ive got no room to stash all the wife's booze in there!"
after spending last friday at nec playing one dealer off against another bought pegasus 534 in the end from local dealer at better price , they say december delivery but we will wait and see.. intresting reading other peoples thoughts on the new tec hope all works out ok
I dont think the interior is superior to other vans I just think that the bodyshell is fantastic and after the testing showed on the caravan channel and the Mondeo having to be scrapped but the van was fine I think its brilliant and will last years!! Those pot holes they were going over were really deep and the van was flying up I was really really impressed and will get one eventually!!
