re Herald Clemont

you have a dealer van this was the model of a van sold by a firm at Derby now out of buiness cannot rember the name of the firm.  Really it is a Compass van given another name.  The firm at Derby was a large firm.

Thanks very much for that Sennen.  I am looking forward to the info from Iain on his return.  And thanks Tel567 for joining in.  We seem to be in a very select group us Heralders.  Given that all of us seem to love our vans so much, I wonder why there are so few of us.  I think it was a well kept secret how good Heralds were.

Yes our herald emblem has a rear end bathroom and the L shaped lounge and the central dinette.It is our first caravan and we are really pleased with it.

HI I'm new, just registered! I have a Herald Clermont 490/4L which I bought on impluse after looking at statics last october! The dealer I got my van off said it was made by a company called Herald who were then then taken over by Explorer group. It was a limited edition and mine is immaculate. My only problem was the truma water filter system as I cant get the truma filters any more but I will over come that this season with an in-line filter or something. also i couldn't get a market value for insurance purposes the caravan club couldn't find it listed on their lists, and neither does it appear in the glasses guide (or whatever the caravan equivalent is!) that all could be good news, its nice to have something a bit different! My final issue is with weight. stupidly in my fit of impluse buying i neglected to consider my towing vehicle capacity and am struggling to work out whether my 2.0L petrol Mondeo will pull this van. (No I'm not blonde!)  anyway happy vanning! will wave to all Herald owners!!

Just to add I have a Herald Clermont 590/5 - double bed and bunk one end and double the other end.  great van,  but like you say no other info about these vans
