hi thanks for the offer slimjm, I have looked at the product and unfortunately it wont do what I need it to.

I was trying to save a few pennies as I have a single socket on my towbar, and  after upgrading from a tent and trailer, double electrics would be good,   I was looking for a lead that doubles the single socket to a double, allowing it to supply my caravan,  but I understand this is not possible.

Thanks all the same for your kind offer

Late but might help,

I have fitted a double socket to my towball even though I only use the one. Can't be asked to run fridge or charge battery whilst driving.

The additional socket alllows me to park the second plug safely. I didn't want it jumping out of the moulding holder on the front of the van and dragging.

regards Mark

PS Euro regs will force UK manufactues to use single plug connection (I believe from 2008).

Update...........once he was sure all the electrics were working as they should, OH fitted the van with a 13 pin plug.  All very neat, just took the 2 wires into the plug and sealed it all with silicone.    We also have an adaptor to convert back to twin electrics in case we need to be towed by a vehicle with twin electrics.

Van has just been for service, service place had to use adaptor to test lights.  They were impressed by the 13 pin plug, had not seen one before.  Boss and OH had a long chat about it all.
