We changed from a Conway Crusader to a Trigano Silver 380. The unladen weight of the Trigano is 740Kg, less than the Crusader/Pathfinder by about 60Kg, and there is a payload allowance of 250Kg which is more than most caravans. Normally loaded the Trigano is quite a bit lighter than the Pathfinder (especially if you have an awning), and certainly tows far better. As it is a pop-up, it is only 50cm higher when folded than the Pathfinder so wind resisance will be not much more.
In over 6000miles of travel and over 100 nights, ours has proved to be very robust, with no problems.
Inside, it has everything the Pathfinder has except the oven (though you can get this as an extra), and it does have a shower.
Search Google using "Trigano Silver" to find them.

We are the other way round selling our freedom caravan for a pullman folding camper - hopefully! Maybe we should do a swap! lol
we looked at the sterkemans at stafford other week, but they are only selling 2008 models and not having any more as the chap said the euro making them too expensive for him to buy in, also when I looked up the book price for them it was 2k less than what he has them up for, this put us off, as would only be worth the book price at a later date, no matter what we paid for it or what the euro is doing!
Last year we bought a 2004 Freedom Jetstream with oven, hob, water heater, room heater and shower room and it was 680 unladen. We pulled it with an Almera 1.5 and were around the 85%. It was a good little van, no frills but again being fibreglass no damp. We found with the end kitchen the van tipped back when unhitching/moving due we think to the weight of the water heater being under the sink so we kept the locker (which is huge) full of heavier kit. We kept it for about 8 months before trading it in as we found that it was just that bit too small for us. They come with a Freedom awning but we did not use it as we prefer to have as little to set up/take down as possible. If you feel you can cope with a smaller van it is a good one to have.

Gemma1675 - do you still have your Freedom caravan - is it ok, we are considering buying one from Freedom in Stafford.
No we don't have our Freedom anymore, we now have an ABI Adventurer which is a bit bigger but still lightweight. We did like our Freedom, and had many happy times in the two years we had it, but were tempted away by the onboard loo in our current van. Our Freedom was a 1991 model, so pretty old, but was in good working order. I recovered all the upholstery and made new curtains so it looked nice on the inside. They haven't changed much in the years since afaik. There is a photo of it in my gallery.
I used to have a Freedom, but it was an older one - 1996 - and had no loo or fridge, The porta potti and coolbox took up most of the floor space when the beds were up, and son & I found it too cramped. The modern ones with a loo & a fridge are better.

I have just traded in an Avondale caravan and a Pathfinder for the new Convertible Caravan by Conway/Pennine. Yes they are expensive but they are the answer to all my prayers! It can be packed away wet.It doesn't fade. Its breathable yet insulated. Its easy to tow and the new fabric is marginally lighter than canvas versions. I hardly ever used the shower in my caravan and I don't really miss not having one fitted. I really do have all the luxuries of a caravan but without the hassle of towing such a big thing. They certainly are well worth a look at! Good luck
