Hail would bounce off a rubber roof!

At least it wont do damage to the caravan roof.  I have heard that

some caravan roofs get dents in from large hail

I just love lying in bed in our van hearing the rain. There's also a little bit of sadoism in me when you look out the window all snug and dry and see the poor souls in tents! Sorry!

I have been known at home when it rains to nip out to the van to get the experience! How sad is that?

What amazes me is how heavy the rain sounds when you're in the van - what can be quite a light shower sounds like the biggest downpour ever!   If you're under a tree then you think the drops will be dinting the top of the van.  However, I love the sound of rain too, there's nothing quite like it.

Anyone remember when it used to rain inside caravans - when the condensation used to build up on the inside and rain down on anyone unlucky to be sleeping under particular bits of the van????  Didn't like that much!

I think that one of the best things about caravaning is waking up in the morning , warm and snug in your van and listening to rain on the roof. Can't beat it.
Much better to wake up in the morning and realise all is quiet on the caravan roof.  After May and June in Cornwall, we don't want to hear that sound again for some time.

Bertie.

We love the sound of rain on the roof aswell, but we unfortunately parked under a great big tree at Tewksbury on the May bank holiday, every time the wind got up it would dump 300 galls of water in one lump on the roof, even the Dog couldn't sleep, superb
