We use the pink fluid in the top tank, and haven't yet seen any problems.  Obviously, harsh cleaners such as bleach and the like must not be used.  Thetfords do a special bathroom cleaner, so this must be safe to put in the top tank.  If you poured some into a virtually empty tank, then added say a litre of fresh water and left it to stand for anhour or two.  Then continually operate the flush, fill again with water and repeat flushing.  Only an idea, but may ensure no blockages.

I have an external 12 volt waterproof socket right next to the loo external service door. I have a piece of hose pipe attached to a spare submersible pump with an in-line switch which plugs into the socket. I carry a spare water carrier also for this purpose and mix my Aquarinse pink in the tank before transfering it to the loo via the pump. Easy. I always get envious looks from other caravanners when performing this simple operation!

We seem to have the same setup Emmo. Elddis Crusader Storm.

Ours was fitted as standard on the van which is now 15 years old. Can you not fit these set ups yourself?

hi, i have a stretchey hose pipe & set up van near water taps (as a bit dissabled ) i fill tubs & top tank at same time, hope this helps happy vanning. san

I also have a 12v socket outside the window but still use a watering can, much easier.

The watering can has many other useful functions as well so its a must have with you.

We usualy use a 5 litre water bottle or our fire bucket when on Camping & Caravan Club sites although the latter mostly ends up on my feet

We are getting a new caravan in a few weeks that appears to need a watering can or at least a funnel to fill the loo as the top tank is different to our old caravans
