Have you considered a solar panel to keep the battery topped up? Maplin have a 13watt solar suitcase for £59. I was advised that a solar panel to be effective should be 25 watt plus, but two of these work out a lot cheaper than a 25 watt.

Talking about solar panels has any one see a parabolic dish being used for cooking.  It concentrates the heat in one area and you can either pin point the heat area or widen it to encompass a larger area.  It is extremely quick and one has to be carefull because the heat is very intense!

Just been away for 2 weeks and had 2 18w solar panles linked to provide 36w.  This kept battery up for whole 2 weeks never went off green.  No problem with lights water heater and water pump + radio
